  1. But what if I want to buy the hdmi cable. Is there any way to tell what HDMI port my laptop has?
  2. No, I only want to buy a single cable from laptop to the monitor. I use wireless peripherals. I am just not sure what resolution does my laptop ports support. Edit: Oh my bad. I didn't read the thunderbolt 3.
  3. Have you tried going in the monitor settings usually there is some info there. Or you can Plug the monitor to a computer and check the specs there.
  4. I don't know any 4k gaming monitors. But there are sure a lot. Some you can find at 144hz. Well the 3090 can do 8K at 60Fps which is equal to 4K at 240fps. So I really don't think you would have a problem running the G9. Though in some games you might have to sacrifice some quality in order to reach the 240fps. Also I think the 3090 still has some driver issue that doesn't let it go higher than 120fps in games. But they might have fixed it by now.
  5. What is the bandwidth you are getting from your provider? If you don't know you can try connecting a laptop directly to the ethernet port on the wall and test the speed.
  6. First of all what will be the purpose of the monitor. Do create content or do you want it for gaming. Must it be 4k at 16:9? I would get the odyssey G9 which is ultra wide 240hz gaming monitor. But I don't know about you, you might be using it for different purpose.
  7. I just bought a ultrawide monitor but the cable that came with it is a display port 1.4 cable. I use a laptop so mine doesn't have a DP port. I used an HDMI cable that was lying around but it only runs at 3440 X 1440 50Hz. The laptop has an Intel UHD 620 graphics card that according to Intel supports 4k 60hz, so it should easily do 3440 X 1440 at 60hz or even 75Hz right? But I think the problem might be the cable being HDMI 1.4. So now I am stuck between two choices. To buy a USB-C 3.1 (gen 1) to Display port cable. Or a HDMI 2.0 cable. The problem with the USB-C is that I d
  8. I have recently changed my Display manger to lightdm and the login screen background is very dull, so I wanted to change it. Here is what it said on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LightDM : The lightdm-webkit2-greeter allows you to choose a background image directly on the login screen. It also offers an option to display a random image each time it starts if you use the Material theme. By default, images are sourced from /usr/share/backgrounds. You can change the background images directory by editing lightdm-webkit2-greeter.conf. For example: /etc/lightdm/lightdm-
  9. Thank you very much. I seems like it did work but only half. I wrote all the command and the updates installed, then I restarted the gdm and it went to the log in screen. But, the Bluetooth firmware is still not fixed so I went to the BIOS and disabled Bluetooth. But now everytime I restart the pc it boots up to the tty. So I have to enter the credentials every single time I restart my PC.
  10. My laptop which has Pop OS suddenly crashed to a blank screen with a text on the top left saying "Ubuntu 19.10 ******-pc tty1". Then there is a line of command under it: ******-pc login: [ 14.284063] Bluetooth: hci0: Failed to send firmware date (-110). I tried pressing ctrl alt delete then it restarted and came back to the same screen. Does anybody know what is going on.
  11. Thanks Everyone very much. I found the solution It turns out it was in the chrome files itself and hidden. I uninstalled chrome together with the files and now it is gone.
  12. Hi My friends computer is infected with some kind of virus. I think it is Ads X. I have tried many ways of removing it. I have tried removing suspicious extentions from chrome and unintalled some programs from from the control panel. But it is still not wroking. Here is a screen show of the ads.
  13. Hi I have a lenovo T460s laptop, and usually when i work the fan suddenly stops working. I dont notice it since it is quiet but when the CPU starts to heat up i notice it. A reboot fixes the problem easily. when i restart the computer after the Lenovo logo comes a small text on the top right corner saying "Fan Error", and then it shuts down automatically. So i have to manualy start the computer again. I first thought it is a driver issue but i checked for updates and it was the latest installed. Please help i am tired of restarting my computer everytime in the middle of my work. Specially
