My dream is to hijack a Xeon rig at school and start folding@home on it.

I heard a story about someone who wanted to upgrade his Core 2 Quad-based prebuilt PC so he could play games on it, so they go to a LAPTOP REPAIRMAN and ask the guy what he can do with it.

A few days later he got the system back and the supposed "IT Technician" threw a $300 HD 6950 and a shitty 600W Thermaltake PSU in there.

My desktop is nothing to awe at. It's nothing. Literally nothing.

I used to be terrible at keeping my desktop clean, I always extracted files there because it was easier than having a dedicated folder.

That's funny because I still call them "USB" even though I know that they're flash storage devices.

My parents want me to make an Android app so they can become millionaires.

NEWSFLASH: not every app becomes as popular as Flappy Bird or Snapchat.

While I used to write complicated .inf files for FSX, software related stuff does not interest me anymore.

Eh you're lucky. My two friends used to jokingly call me a fag for liking Intel products. Then I mentioned the inefficient IPC on AMD CPU's.

Really? I'm surprised MS doesn't charge $100 for it like Windows 7 and 8.

I asked Apple if I could purchase the Mac Mini enclosure on it's own. Then I told them that I was going to put PC parts inside and Hackintosh it.

They said "Why build a fake Mac when you can get the feeling of owning a real one by buying one from our store."

Idiots. To be honest I hope these people get nowhere in life for treating you like that.

Seriously, when are they going to make a decent mid-tower with cable management and a clean aesthetic under $100.

The Crazed Child reacted to Trik'Stari in Australians may face 10% tax fee for steam sales.
That I don't necessarily mind, because it's a repeat income (at least the rent paid to you, selling it, that would be sales tax, one time). Whereas paying "property tax" on a house you own and live in...is just a tax on having something, and in the end it means you can never truly "own" your house and property, because if you don't pay that tax? "get out of your house, it's somehow ours now".

The Crazed Child reacted to AmirMC in Australians may face 10% tax fee for steam sales.
The reason why it shouldn't be taxed, is because it costs the Australian government nothing. Steam is based in the US and you pay in USD. You are receiving a digital item that costs the Australian government no shipping/handling/customs etc. Tax on digital items is usually applied to labour costs and licensing fees. But because steam games are bought and sold in USD, their labour costs are already included and the license fees are covered by the developers. The Australian government is shafting us for purchasing internationally and downloading them with an Australian IP. Might as well run a trace route and charge tax in every country that it passes through...
