That’s a nice gesture of the store manager. Glad everything turned out fine for you. :-)

Christophe Corazza reacted to HM-2 in Thorium Breeder VS Fusion Reactors
People are irrationally afraid of nuclear power. More people die every year in China alone just mining coal for use in domestic power generation than have died in the entire history of civil nuclear power. When you take into account indirect deaths from pollution etc, they're hundreds of thousands of times more deadly in the real world.
Fun fact, most of the radioactive contamination in inhabited areas stemming from the Fukushima disaster had dropped to background levels now; the decision not to let people return to previously affected areas is an entirely political one.

Christophe Corazza reacted to comander in What was university like for you guys?
Diet + Sleep + exercise
Also find the EASIEST/most-flexible relevant major that'll get you to where you want to go. Want to be a nuclear engineer but too scared of the hardcore physics - consider Applied Math, it's more flexible and you can probably "specialize" in whatever you'd need to know for the nuclear enigneering stuff. It's awesome being able to NOT have a fixed schedule to take classes. You can avoid awful professors and preserve your GPA. Either that or add in a minor in business. That's like 10 easy As.
Also throw in peer pressure. My peer group was mostly "career" focused and getting a 3.5-4.0GPA wasn't a "big deal" it was just something you did and you HAD to do because the kid at Harvard had it... AND he had Harvard on the resume. I think I had the nearly the lowest grades out of my roommates/the business club I was in. The average GPA at the uni I went to was ~3.0 and it's a school known for hard grading (think - "hey the visiting professor taught at Princeton last term, this should be an easy A" and Princeton is known for hard grading)
https://www.google.com/search?q=UC grade deflation
For what it's worth, unless something has changed in the last 10ish years, 3.5ish is the area where grades don't matter a ton (it's "good enough") and the rest of your resume REALLY matters more.

You better keep those temperatures low
Last time I checked, carboard was quite flammable

Christophe Corazza reacted to MyName13 in What do/did mathematics exams look like on your college (engieering departments)?
Same thing. Why does anyone need to be weeded out anyway by using mathematics as a filter (add bad teaching to that and you're expected to learn everything yourself...).Biggest problem on my university is that engineers study mathematics too deeply (makes me wonder if they consider us mathematicians or engineers).

Christophe Corazza reacted to mr moose in London Electric Buses to trial new sound
Imagine having to use such an inefficient fuel source that creates so much pollution.
This post was made by the nuclear engine association.
EDIT:P.S I am aware nuclear needs steam to create electricity.

I’m always baffled by how those people come up with those new ridiculous layouts that will most certainly mess with your mind when trying to learn how to us the darn thing.

Christophe Corazza got a reaction from DrMacintosh in Surface Go - A new low cost Surface Pro - Starts at only 399$
Yeah on paper this sounds great but in reality this tablet costs as much as a good Windows 10 laptop (or a very good one if OK with refurbished). I based this on the $ 400 base price + $ 100 for keyboard + $ 50 to upgrade to Windows 10 home (S-mode comes as default) = $ 550.
~$ 650 if go for spacious RAM and storage space. In short its not worth it.
About the only plus I can give this is at least MS has finally learned that the 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage option is unacceptable in the Windows 10 era and all those sub $ 200 devices that don’t splurge for the extra $ 10 to upgrade to a minimum of 4 GB RAM / 64 GB storage are being extra special douches counting on buyers not knowing better.
(Really do not buy anything at 32 GB regardless of price. You spend way to much time on space management and dealing with Windows 10 updates failing due to lack of space.)

Christophe Corazza got a reaction from pentotark in [Build Log] Rustic Wooden PC [in progress]
To stay with the theme of the build: you could use an old very small light bulb instead of a LED. That would look very nice at the outside of the wooden crate case.

Christophe Corazza got a reaction from gabrielcarvfer in Surface Book 2 not detecting GPU in keyboard dock
Between this, the flicker gate, the power problems and the CU finding of poor reliability of Surface devices, I don’t see why anybody would buy a Surface device over other more capable competitors.
