poochyena got a reaction from J-from-Nucleon in Epic says it’s ‘open’ to blockchain games after Steam bans them
Mostly this. I don't think its entirely about lawsuits, its about their brand image too. Their game market being flooded with low effort NFT "games" can damage their brand.
Epic doesn't really have the positive brand image Valve/Steam has, so they'll gladly just take whatever money they can get.

My old printer doesn't print very well anymore and I'm not going to replace it. For shipping labels, I just use a thermal printer now, and for the rare times I need to print documents, I just go to my local library to print them for, like, a 15 cents. Printers under $150 just are not worth purchasing.

Why would I buy an extra battery when I could buy a power bank that charges ALL my devices?
Its the price for me. Hard for me to want to spend more than ~$300 on a device I only use to check emails and play pokemon go.

I don't get it. Why would anyone buy this rather than an android? The "who is it for" section just lists reasons why you shouldn't buy it unless you already have their previous model. Its not a very good deal in terms of specs to price ratio.

can't you install a different OS with any unlocked android phone? I didn't notice any water resistance rating, so swap-able battery won't mean much if you phone dies in the rain.

The big cores are Cortex A72s with a 1.5 GHz clock speed, and quad Cortex A53s. Definitely pretty long in the tooth there. At $400, I would want something a little more robust.

poochyena got a reaction from Jtalk4456 in A Missouri newspaper told the state about a website security risk. Now it faces prosecution.
Should we blame men since he's a man and not the first time a man has done such a thing? Or how about blame white people for it? Or boomers? Or married people?
You can never hope to see positive change if you paint anyone looking to make positive changes as being the same as the people who don't. The government is exactly as useful as the people you elect, and if you refuse to blame individuals and continue to generalize, you can never hope to see change.

I don't think it has happened for anything but the PS5, however BestBuy states this will apply to their hot items for at least over the holidays. It is assumed this means consoles and GPUs, but isn't limited to either.

Do you think a 2nd battery will keep a phone charged for longer or something?
    how? In what possible way?

You can get a battery bank of literally any size you want. Here is one basically the size of a phone battery https://smile.amazon.com/10000mah-Portable-External-Powerbank-Compatible/dp/B07NTDK5LD/ref=sr_1_11?
So why would I want to carry around a battery for my phone, when I could carry around a battery bank for my phone + any other electronic device I have or may switch to in the future?
Thats another reason I don't really care about fairphone. Its not really modular like framework laptops are, for example.

poochyena reacted to Blademaster91 in Best Buy puts "Hot Items" Behind $200 Membership Fee
The insurance might be nice if you could for example only get a GPU from an AIB with a not so great RMA policy, instead of having to deal with the company trying to screw you out of a replacement, or shipping it back. All you have to do is exchange the product at Bestbuy.
I would consider the $200 membership for a hard to find product, but I wouldn't renew it, getting a standard extended warranty is much cheaper.
And Bestbuy isn't forcing you to buy the membership, also I don't see how warranty policies in Austrailia apply, as electronics are significantly more expensive there anyway.
You're seriously going to avoid Bestbuy for an optional membership?
No one criticizes Newegg for their ridiculous shuffle system for hard to find electronics, so only scalpers and miners can buy items as everything is overpriced to scalper levels and you have to check the site everyday to see if you have a chance at "winning" the privilege of buying something.

it jumps around like the editor has never created a how to guide and the shot choice confuses me as well.

Well yea, they want people to know that type of content will get you banned on their platform due to it being false info.
That would make them a publisher. As they are now, they don't really control what gets posted, they can only remove what does.
Not even remotely true. CNN doesn't even spread fake news. RT is a propaganda arm of the russian goverment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RT_(TV_network)#Propaganda_claims_and_related_issues
