  1. It's a workaround but I'd ideally want to know what's causing the error in the first place.
  2. Hi, I've been having this issue for a few weeks now, and sometimes I can't even get past the warning screen because it only lets me to go the BIOS instead of booting Windows. I installed CrystalDiskMark and it says both my SSDs as 98% / 100% health. Any ideas? Thanks
  3. I don't know if this is normal but as you can see from the pic there is a gap between the block and the screws below.. Is this normal? Thanks
  4. Not sure what you mean? AMD is taking the fight to Intel in just about every way possible other than swinging fists directly.
  5. Sorry, but after recently buying an Asrock Z490 board, the idea that they have turned a corner couldn't be further from the truth. While I was aware of a few Youtuber's throwing Asrock under the bus regarding their Z490 board designs, I took it with a pinch of salt and went ahead and purchased one of their ITX Z490 boards. As it turns out, even though Asrock claims "unmatched overclocking capabilities" on their website, the board cannot handle even a fairly light OC on the 10600K without current throttling. Most boards usually come with options to increase the power limit in t
  6. Yeah I managed to dislodge most with a brush, so looking much better now. Thanks. I just got the material details from the product page: https://www.ekfluidgaming.com/ek-af-alu-angled-90-g1-4-black Are you sure?
  7. It was for about 30 mins. Guessing I should have left it for longer? I'm also assuming that Red wine vinegar is the same as vinegar for all intensive purposes...
  8. I've tried hot water and Red Wine vinegar but there is still a lot of gunk on the insides. I don't really want to spend £30 on new fittings if I can get these in decent condition. Any suggestions? Thanks
  9. I've owned the Vive Cosmos, Quest, and Rift S. For PC VR, the Rift S is by far the best choice from my experience. Compared to the Cosmos, although the resolution is slightly lower, the Rift S display looked much better, was way more comfortable than both the Quest and Cosmos, had much better controllers than the Cosmos, better tracking, and was cheaper.
  10. Then why do mobos still provide driver downloads for Win10?
  11. I've always noticed that installing mobo drivers appears to make little difference to the system's performance / functionality. I've heard some people suggest that if there are no warnings in device manager, then Windows has automatically installed all the necessary drivers for you. However, if that was the case, surely it would warn you saying already have the suitable drivers installed when you try installing the mobo drivers directly, but it doesn't. What's the deal?
  12. The 2700X is an officially supported CPU for that board so this issue should not be occurring anyway. Besides, there's so many other factors at play, I don't see the point in jumping to a conclusion so soon.
  13. Are you having the issue in multiple games or just one? Is it freezing or are you getting FPS drops? (Note that your FPS is unlikely to be constant anyway) It's unlikely to be your mobo.
  14. Memory issues are more likely to cause a BSOD rather than just freezing in my experience. Is it happening in many games? I have seen mismatched memory kits causing random crashing in a couple of games, but not because the memory isn't on the QVL.
  15. Do you have any advice for this scenario? I have a pair of headphones I want to use with my audio interface but the cable is too short and non-detachable. i can't really move the interface any closer. If I plug the headphones into my PC however, then I won't get audio out the speakers I have plugged into my interface as well as I believe I can only select one sound output in Windows. Does that make sense?
  16. The QVL list shows what RAM kits have been verified working with your motherboard. If it's not on the list, it just means it's not guaranteed to work. As you haven't had any problems, it's safe to say there are no problems.
  17. I appreciate your presence in this sub-forum. You're always there to help me!. I have had the level set manually in Discord. I guess what I was really asking was whether there was a program I could use (eg Virtual audio cable / voicemeter / Banana) to manually boost the mic's volume level (not ideal I know) and also provide some sort of abstraction layer to fix the mic problems I'm having in some games. E.g Rust and Rocket League don't play nicely with my XLR mic in the sense that there's a lot of dropouts/stuttering or it's very quiet. I was thinking putting a program
  18. I'm using Ableton, looks to be about -30db peak.
  19. I'm using a mic with a USB audio interface on Windows and want to remove background hum. What's the best way to do this? Thanks
  20. It's definitely louder, but still a problem. I think the problem is I've gone for two mics which are both designed to be used right next to the mic. Looking at some other ones like the AT2020 they appear to be significantly more sensitive if I'm reading the specs correctly.
  21. Yes it's correctly orientated. I don't get why I need to splash out for a pre-amp when an audio interface is literally designed to work with microphones.
  22. This is driving me nuts because I'm not sure how everyone else using XLR setups is surviving as I'm not using anything fancy. Unless I speak about 5cm away from the mic, the level is really low (about -30db) and my friends complain that 200% volume in Discord is barely loud enough. I've tried two different audio Interfaces ( Steinberg UR22C and Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 Gen3) with both a Behringer XM8500 (Dynamic mic) and an AT2010 (Condenser/Phantom mic) yet the level is still super low. The mic is as close as can be to my mouth while being on the desk (About 20cm). The
