  1. Can some explain how I would be able to run TrueNAS in a VM inside Proxmox?
  2. Ideally, I would like to run TrueNAS, and an Ubuntu VM inside TrueNAS for a PiHole recursive DNS server. The HPE server would probably be overkill, but it would give me a lot of room to grow. Let me know what you think of this route.
  3. The DL380s are probably way overkill for me. Is there something less expensive you recommend? I'd like to be able to have seperate TrueNas and Proxmox boxes.
  4. Hi LTT, I'm currently using an old HP desktop to run TrueNas, but I would like to add more storage (only 2 1TB drives right now). At first, I thought about upgrading my current machine, but it became too costly to bother. Now, I'm looking to buy a used rackmount server (preferably not a 1U), and I'd like the machine to be reasonably quiet. On top of TrueNas, I'd like to get into VMs. My plan is to have seperate virtualization and storage servers. What used servers (barebones is fine) would you recommend that are available on ebay? My budget is around $1000 all in.
  5. You're probably right about the monitors. They're a tad overkill. As for the PSU, I'll probably either wait for it to be available at MSRP or buy something else. Thanks for the help everyone!
  6. Hi LTT Forum, I'm looking to build myself a new Gaming Rig. I'll primarily be using this machine for MS Flight, CS:GO, Warzone, Valorant, F1 2020, and some video/photo editing. Below is my current parts list. Please let me know what you think and if I should change anything. PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4y4QYg CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 12-Core Processor CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 CHROMAX.BLACK 82.52 CFM CPU Cooler ($99.95 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock X570 Taichi ATX AM4 Motherboard ($269.99 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3
  7. I see, but is the the current line cropped sensor Nikon cameras something worth buying lenses for that I may not be able to use in the future? I’m just curious to see what you think. Do you think something like a Nikon Z5 or an EOS RP a better option then for a $2500 budget? If I had $3500 to $4000 to spend (I don’t) would an EOS R6, a 24-70mm f/2.8, 14-24mm f/2.8, a nice tripod, and a filter kit be a solid choice?
  8. I also do some sports photography, must mostly other stuff I mentioned earlier. What do you think about spending money on a R6 and then buying an RF to EF adapter and buying used high-end EF lenses? Might cut the cost a little and I can always buy some high-end RF glass used in the future. Also, what recommendations do you have for square filter kits?
  9. I see, currently, I have Nikon D3400, 18-55mm VR AF-P, and 70-300mm AF-P. Some reasons I want to upgrade are: the AF in low light on my camera is slow, inaccurate and there are only 11 points that cover about a 1/3 of the sensor, and the ISO noise at anything above 800 is terrible.
