  1. Hey everyone! I recently bought an XFX RX570 8GB graphics card with one 8-pin pcie connector, and a lot of people have told me that I could increase the card's performance by manually overclocking it. (I'm new to overclocking) However, I'd like to ask if that's possible and safe with my Corsair CX450 450W PSU? My motherboard is Gigabyte b365m d3h. Thank you in advance!

Thanks, just one more question: Since I want to test the two NEW sticks before I combine them with the ones I currently have, do I need to clear CMOS before turning on the PC with only the NEW ram sticks plugged in, and then again after combining all 4 of them, or do I need to clear CMOS only before using all 4 sticks combined, and not when testing the two NEW sticks?

  4. I have quite a specific situation I want to ask about. My motherboard is gigabyte b250 hd3p. The RAM slots channels are (when looking from left to right) AABB, or DDR4-4, DDR4-2, DDR4-3, DDR4-1, with 4 AND 2 BEING CHANNEL A, and 3 AND 1 BEING CHANNEL B. I currently have 2x4gb sticks of Kingston HyperX Fury RAM running in dual channel mode (put in the DDR4-2 and DDR4-1 slots). I found a really good deal for another 2x4gb sticks with the exact same model number, timings, latency, and exact same revision number. I am aware that this is often a gamble, but I want to try.   5. I hope I'm posting this in the right subforum, if not, I apologize. So basically, two days ago I shut down my PC as usual, and it went through the "Shutting down" screen, and the screen turned black afterwards. However, I noticed that the power light on my PC case/tower was still on, and thar the fans were still spinning. This never happened before, so I got worried. I tried to press the power button once shortly to see if it would shut down - it didn't, so I pressed the restart button on my case and it restarted and booted up normally.   6. Okay, so today I bought a Logitech F710 gamepad (wireless) and it came with a usb nanoreceiver. I tested it out and it works great, however I have a question. My pc keeps supplying power to the usb ports when it's shut down (I haven't found a way to disable this) and I want to know - should I leave my nanoreceiver plugged in when the computer's turned off? Could the constant power supplied by the usb ports damage the nanoreceiver in any way?

  9. Okay, so I have a Zotac GTX 1050 ti OC edition. It has 2 fans. Today I noticed that the furthest right part of the graphichs card is shaking a bit (like a small vibration), in comparison to the left part which is perfectly still. I wiggled it around a bit to see if it would go away, tried to push it in a bit, but it's properly seated. There's no unusual rattling sound (although, while I was pushing it, the right fan did make a sort of a rattling sound in some positions, however it doesn't when I don't touch the gpu). Is this normal?
  10. Okay, so, I'm a bit surprised and frightened atm. Basically, what happened is that I put my pc to sleep mode and after a while I forgot it's in sleep mode and shut off the PSU and unplugged it. I did some rearranging of cables inside my case and i unplugged and plugged in again a fan. At this point, it hit me - my pc was in sleep mode, it wasn't completely shutdown before I unplugged it. I plugged it back in (keep in mind it had been off for a good 15-20 mins) and turned it on. The bootup process went unusually slow, and then, I logged in, and all my open programs were still there.   12. Okay, so what happened is that my PC was running and I wanted to check something on the back of my motherboard with a magnifying glass (made of metal). I accidentally touched the metal part on the back that is behind the processor. This is the part I touched (not my mobo on the picture, only there for reference): Nothing happened, the pc is working fine. Is it possible I damaged something?
  13. The title is pretty self explanatory, it's kind of a weird, perhaps dumb question. So basically, I have a GTX 1050ti and I currently have a 1280x1024 monitor. I want to check how my GPU would work on Full HD resolution, so, if I set the resolution to 1920x1080, even though it doesn't show up properly on my 1280x1024 monitor, is my graphics card working as if it would work on a Full HD monitor? Am I getting the FPS I'd get on a Full HD monitor with Full HD resolution, even though it's a 1280x1024 monitor?

Okay, so basically, my PC was on and I (being the idiot I am) wanted to remove a metal panel above the back side of the GPU (the thing you pop out when you put in a GPU, a PCI express card etc) without turning the PC off first. What happened is that the metal panel thingy touched the top of my GPU (which doesn't have any protection - it's a Zotac GTX 1050 ti OC edition) while it was running.   18. Alright, so, here's the deal. I recently built a rig with a LC power 600w v2.31 power supply. Yesterday, I noticed a very high pitched sound coming from the supply when the PC is off and the PSU is plugged in and turned on. Read online that it could be a sign of its lifespan ending (it was bought a bit more than a month ago -.-) or coil whine. Either way, I plan to return it and get a better one, but preferably for a similar amount of money.   19. Well, when I press the power button, all I hear is 1 beep, and then it boots. One last question, I know I'm being paranoid, but I need to ask. Could the scratch(es) be a danger in ANY WAY reagrding electricity, as in, if I leave my PC plugged in the outlet all the time without shutting off my PSU, could there be any danger with something like a fire happening, caused by the scratch?   21. Understood, however, it isn't the area around the screw hole that concerns me, but the scratch to the right, as you can see in the pic. God, I really wanna know how I managed to scratch it that far...

  23. Okay, so, here's the thing. While I was putting my motherboard into my case and onto my MOBO standoffs, they wouldn't quite line up, so I had to push the mobo to the left so the holes would line up. I made my entire system and everything's running ok, however, I noticed scratches near one of my MOBO standoffs, because it's the only one visible when I open the side panel, I'm not sure if there are any scratches near the other ones too, but probably. Is this a concernig matter? Take a look:
