Thinkpad T14 (AMD) already has 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM (soldered), but I added 16GB more just 'cos I could. 😁

'Chew's first time upgrading laptop hardware. It's a simple enough process with the Thinkpad T14, but I was still stupid nervous. More nervous than my first time building a PC, lol.

Alright... let's try for tl;dr this time lol. I tired to sum up creating a new site with Docker and Ghost in a quick status update. 634 words later I realized I went on too long. Either way, playing around with containers on a rainy day has been a ton of run and produced some awesome results.

It's also been a lot cheaper than playing with new hardware! 🤣

If you're going to start your own blog or some form of longer form content publishing, I highly recommend Ghost over Wordpress.

The Tech News section is in such a sad state these days.
As tech enthusiasts, we should remain as neutral as possible.
Use everything, watch tech evolve and grow, hope for and be grateful for competition.

But that isn't what we're seeing these days.
Someone has to be the bad guy.
    Someone has to be defeated.
    You must pick a side.
You have to go into a Tech News thread and cut down total strangers over non-issues and semantics.

It's turning into politics and it's just sad.
By the time the next LTX comes around, I can just see a fight breaking out because someone used 12900K instead of a Ryzen 7900X...

No matter who the company is... it's a company.
They care about profits. There are people within these companies who are truly passionate about their job and about technology, but that's an across the board thing. At the end of the day, those people are only able to remain passionate about their jobs because the company as a whole finds ways to extract as much money from it as possible. Any and all goodwill should be seen and treated as marketing. You can be impressed with tech without getting emotionally attached to a company.

SETTLE DOWN. We need every player in the game. Hold no allegiances.
Reward who you think is meeting your needs with your wallet, not your emotions.
It's okay to be receptive to marketing. It is not okay or healthy to be controlled by it to the degree we see today.
2020's been a tough year, but it's no excuse for what Tech News has become.

If you're reading this status, I'm probably not talking to you.
The vent was necessary though, so thanks for reading it.
