bellabichon got a reaction from Fasauceome in Looking for cheap but powerful Graphics Cards.
Graphics card prices are pretty insane at the moment. Would you be willing to wait? If not, your best bet is probably a used Maxwell (9xx) or Pascal (10xx) card. What would your budget be?

bellabichon got a reaction from Fasauceome in What gpu do i pair with a Ryzen 5 3600?
If the GPU market were normal, I'd recommend something like a 1650/1650 super, or maybe a used GTX 1070. However, the GPU market is far from normal right now. If you can't wait, your best bet is probably something used. Look around for a reasonably priced 970 or 1060.

bellabichon got a reaction from Hymenopus_Coronatus in VR with a kind of low-end PC.
Your PC isn't going to 'blow up', it'll just be a bad experience. The effect of VR is only convincing when you have a smooth-ish framerate. On Radeon Integrated Graphics, all it'll do is make you want to throw up.

bellabichon got a reaction from Latvian Video in Can't get my ram to run at advertised speed
I wonder if CPU-Z puts this in their documentation, because there's a thread like this daily on the forum. DDR means Double Data Rate, i.e. multiply the number there by two and that's your actual ram speed.

As long as the GPU would physically fit in the case, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. As for the PSU, does the Aurora R10 have a standard ATX power supply? It looks like it in pictures I can find online, but Dell loves using proprietary power supplies.

Ok? Many people don’t know the difference between a monitor and the actual computer. Instead of ridiculing someone for not knowing something why not teach them so they know for the future?

Yeah, they're sold out everywhere, and bots buy them in seconds whenever they come back in stock. I got my 3070 with this twitter bot and a lot of luck.

bellabichon got a reaction from linuxChips2600 in So, how did Nvidia reach record sales in q4?
Consumer products make a difference to Nvidia's bottom line, but giant firms and corporations have much deeper pockets. Also, it's not that the RTX 3000 cards aren't coming in stock, it's that whenever they're put up online bots buy them in seconds.

bellabichon got a reaction from CPL_Jimmy in Is this Mini ITX worth anything?
That's an interesting idea. It's got an AMD A8-4555M APU, released in 2012, which was originally designed for notebooks. With an SSD and a few sticks of DDR3 RAM, it would meet the minimum spec for Windows 10, but I'm not sure how the great the experience would be. It can also be difficult to tell exactly what you're getting when you buy used online.

bellabichon got a reaction from Tyrion007 in Faulty motherboard?
Sounds like something went wrong during the BIOS flash. It can take quite a while, depending on the speed of the USB and the size of the file. It's always best to use a USB drive with an LED indicator, so you can make sure it's actually flashing before you give up. I'd try flashing it one more time from USB just to make sure, and if that doesn't work you should start processing an RMA. Did you make sure to name the BIOS file MSI.ROM? You should also make sure you're plugging it into the correct USB port (see the attached image).

bellabichon got a reaction from Hymenopus_Coronatus in Should I install more fans for my H510?
Instead of planning how to fix the H510's mediocre airflow, would you consider getting a different case? I'm with you on the H510's sex appeal, but that shouldn't really be your first priority for a case. Something like a Fractal Design Meshify C or Corsair 4000D Airflow would give you much better airflow from the get-go.

bellabichon reacted to Oshino Shinobu in Why is my 3600 memory not showing as 3600?
It doesn't halve it, it displays the actual clock speed of the RAM, which in this case is 1800MHz. Double Data Rate (DDR) means that the RAM performs two operations per clock cycle, which results in an effective "clock" of 3600MT/s (not MHz), which is what's advertised and quoted because bigger numbers sound better.

bellabichon got a reaction from DonBaldy in Why is my 3600 memory not showing as 3600?
CPU-Z halves your RAM speed, for some reason. Look at DRAM Frequency under the Memory tab, and multiply it by two. That's the speed your RAM is actually running at (which looks to be 3600MHz). Here's how it looks for me, with my G.Skill set at 3600MHz:

Have you tried updating the BIOS? Your board has the ability to flash from a USB, without needing the CPU or RAM installed.

The power limit is locked in the GPU's vBIOS. You could flash it with a different vBIOS (like the Trio X's) if you wanted some more room for overclocking. Here's a good Reddit thread about it.
