Assuming the focus is gaming, you can squeeze a faster GPU in there.  That said those are hard to get ahold of right now, and your CPU is the next to need upgrade after that.

If you paid by credit card you can just contest the charge and get your money back, charge-back those crooks.

When you're talking to Amazon are you talking directly to an Amazon agent or is it just a 3rd party seller messaging with you.  If it's the latter, I would stop talking to them and get an Amazon A to Z claim going where you force Amazon's hand by demanding a refund (use the site to directly get Amazon support and file the A to Z claim).  You sent the goods back and the seller is clearly a scammer if what you say is true, they need to help you if you just tell them you  had your money scammed.

I would think so.  I don't know of keys that care at all about what install media you use.  I presume the products you are comparing are retail keys anyway, so you don't have OEM limitations anyway.  Could even make your own USB and install with that instead thanks to windows media creation tool and have it be the most up to date Windows 10 (the dvd will be out of date most likely).  The  key is really the important bit.

Beware that high opp setting is actually required for psu’s to be able to handle high transient spike loads of high end gpu’s , there is a reason why most psu’s have opp set at 125 or higher

It's better at anything with high threads.  Special ram? Not really, but if you're worried pick something off the motherboard QVL list, otherwise just find a kit of DDR4-3600 with CAS 16 and you'll be set, can just turn on XMP and be done.

Only if you are planning on doing LN2 overclocking with a 3950x.  If you're planning on running it stock, or with mild overclock, or even with heavy overclock (and you have good case airflow and some air passes over your VRMs) than your current board is more than enough.

yeah it's called a 100-foot ethernet cable lol.  What are you trying to accomplish?  You can run long cables, but you do not want to think about ways to wirelessly bridge your modem and router, that's a recipe for madness.

Nope.  Wrong.  It's called reviews of the Focus plus not just by avg joe-end-user having issues now, but also pros who reviewed it and found that Seasonic failed to completely fix the inherent design issues with that series of Focus.  Seasonic tried to fix the issues and they just turned "shuts off on high GPU pull" into "ripples out of control" which is not a smart thing to let a PSU do.

There are so many many other fish in the sea that the consumer is not HARMED by avoiding this problem-prone line of PSU.  They are better off getting a Corsair CX or RM or any other number of PSU that don't have faults  ... the end?

    Oh, so you're clairvoyant ?
Neither it means that it's a good unit. Search at least on this forum alone and you'll find several threads with people complaining about GPU instability with Seasonic Focus, even with upgraded shielded cables. Even Seasonic themselves acknowledged the issue.
Yeah, because it's better to have more protection, right ? Or nah ? Or Seasonic PSUs should be in the top tier regardless of anything just because they're Seasonic ?
Everything are tiered according to methodology. Units that have ended up in tier D+ have some flaws, see sources on them for more info. With otherwise plenty of options there are no reason to buy PSUs that may even potentially give you problems, just buy some other PSU besides your precious Seasonic\EVGA (or get Seasonic Prime which is good).

LogicWeasel reacted to Midnitewolf in What mobo to get that is under/around 100 cad that's supports 3rd gen ryzen without having to update bios?
I will go further than that.  Even a brand new x570 board with built in support for Ryzen 3000 needs a bios update.  I just bought a Gigabyte x570 Aorus Pro that I received 2 weeks ago and it came with the very first BIOS version released.   There were I think 7 BIOS revisions since then, several of them with critical updates fixing unforeseen issues that had came up since Ryzen 3000 was release.  I mean I dropped in the CPU and it posted just fine so technically I could have used it without updating the BIOS but the BIOS updates corrected things involving voltage issues and had several performance enhancements that probably increased my machines performance by 5% or more.

I guess my point is, your going to need to update the bios whatever board you get and if you can't get an x570 board, just make sure you get a board that can support a BIOS flash without the CPU so you can flash to BIOS prior to installing the CPU.
