GabenJr got a reaction from Hymenopus_Coronatus in Intel and Nvidia copied AMD
I'll preface this by saying that testing for this video concluded at the beginning of February, before this list was available. Sponsored videos take a while in the pipeline. The games chosen for testing were informed by which games had the best performance improvement with SAM enabled in the RX 6800/6900 reviews.
Yes, Nvidia is individually validating specific games, but if the theory is that resizable BAR alone is the reason for performance uplift, games that improve on AMD should also see similar improvement on Nvidia unless the driver is explicitly preventing them from using resizable BAR or otherwise interfering. The fact that AMD had no such compatibility list points to the conclusion that either Nvidia rushed this like we said, or AMD's memory management was just that bad to begin with (unlikely given Nvidia's claims of "similar" / 10% performance improvements).

GabenJr got a reaction from MultiGamerClub in We fixed Windows 10 - Microsoft will HATE this!
Windows 10 is known to come with a lot of telemetry and other “features” that reduce privacy in order to work as “software as a service”. Thankfully, there’s an effort to ameliorate this…

GabenJr got a reaction from PlayStation 2 in We put Windows on an Xbox! … Sort of
Yeah, we only received ours I believe in mid December despite ordering it basically ASAP, and we were buried under the eternal TechTober releases at the time so it took until now to get to.
This title is basically the same as Anandtech's, just without the review bit tacked on at the end. I guess it could have been "Test driving an A9-9820", but nobody would know or care what that is.

GabenJr got a reaction from thechinchinsong in ASUS, Asrock, and Biostar Have Enabled Resizable BAR On Their Z490 Motherboards
I don't think it's that simple. Until recently, VRAM never really exceeded 8GB for most gaming cards, and games didn't use that much of it. Resizable BAR / SAM only really makes sense when moving a lot of data around from what I can tell (fewer "bank switches"), so its effects would have been limited and not really worth the effort in previous generations. This is exemplified in the fact that not every title sees a big benefit from it.
My take on it is that AMD took the initiative here after seeing what devs were doing with the Xbox Series and PS5 consoles, and now everyone else has to catch up. In the end, it'll have been a short-lived gimmick that gave them an advantage over Nvidia, similar to how "RTX" gave Nvidia an early advantage in ray tracing despite it also being a standard thing in both DirectX and Vulkan.
