theres not much revenue from TV overhead on it is stupid high. Content providers demand more money every year. Company wants more internet revenue its WAY more profitable than Tv ever was.

working for the company I can tell you TWo of the modems we send out the XB6 and XB7 are 3.1 modems. Also XB7 has 802.11AX. as to the cap expansion after signals of degrading the use of caps I suspect its a revenue gen set up. TV has not been our core buisness nwo for years and never will be due to high overhead from the channel content owners. But covid has cost the company ALOT. We been deploying been for months to Work from home or as its called internally "Virtual." Upgrades continue and still cost money afewp rojects to fix the disparity with upload speeds was tested in florida and hopefully will go nation wide. But trust me upgrades are occurring just...nothings going smoothly since feb.

To give an idea, we typically plan to upgrade for what we think we will need in 18 months...this made our projects more like what we expected in 3 to 5 YEARS once everyone piled into their homes. So upgrades planned are not making enough impact cause they were not for this level of need.

Not having encryption also threatens our national defense, enemies WILL find these back doors into systems and they WILL use them to attack national defense.

I suspect this was a guy trying to give a customer an exception to help them. But this is precisely why we as employees usually won't when we tell you we will get fired for breaking policy WE AINT FUCKING KIDDING. @mr moose Nope in all likelihood since he was fired for breakign company policy he'll be denied unemployment too. This is really really why shouting at people to do what their told not to is a bad idea. And I promise you if this got out and is true it was allowed to so it'd keep others in line. Remind them that company policy trumps you being nice.

Tellos got a reaction from StDragon in Hello MB my old friend - Proposed Bill would require backdoors in any device with over 1GB of storage.
So we want MORE security breaches? Cause this is all we keep asking for by demanding back doors. Its like politicians are constantly forgetting they will not be the only ones seeking to use these methods.

You can also have independent mechanics source parts for fixes without fear the dealership will suddenly try to sue them or get customs to confiscate the parts.

Tellos reacted to Curious Pineapple in Apple will announce move to ARM-based Macs later this month, says report
Well firstly I didnt break it, was just a quote. Secondly as I said, it's nowhere near the new cost of the device unlike Apple who would rather push a customer into a new device than just repairing the perfectly usable old one. Does Apple say "well, you can just go out and buy a used phone for the same price as we're about to charge you"? No, they offer a refurb in exchange for a 6 (plus money) that they "can't repair", then refurb that and sell it on to some other unsuspecting fool.

Even if I did need a new screen, Android supports applications for a lot longer than Apple devices do.

I have a Galaxy S2 that still works fine and runs modern applications. Hate to break it to you, but you're talking crap again.

this is what everyone wanted, they complained cable and DVDs and blu rays were too pricey. Well THIS IS the cost cables been paying, this IS what buying discs avoided. But when you demand convenience and kill other options well those guys who gave you the option you're using wont care anymore. Everyone things streaming is a cash cow and so they all want a piece. why I still buy discs for some things, and physical books.
