I'd just cut out his face and glue it to the other sticker. Only way you can do it really.

I wouldn't get his face personally. Just seems odd.

dizmo got a reaction from Letgomyleghoe in If Apple never made AirPods, but another company made them, would you still buy them?
Yeah, apparently next years regular AirPods are supposed to be just like this years Pros. So it'll be a nice $70 savings should I choose to go for them, especially since I'd have to go with Colorware's options if they only have white. Though that makes me wonder if they have something even better planned for the Pro lineup. Wait and see, I suppose. I wouldn't get this years iPhone anyway, so it's not something I'll have to think about for a good year.

I don't understand the point. Does it matter what it costs in the US? It's not really relevant to you, unless you might buy the parts there.
Either way, PCPartPicker will list them for you.

dizmo got a reaction from AluminiumTech in R5 5600 worth getting over 3600 for the extra cost?
I'd go with the 5600x if you hold onto your stuff for a long time. Probably should have gone with a B550 board as well TBH.
While NVME storage isn't necessary now, in a few years it likely will be, and you'll be left without.

dizmo got a reaction from AidyyJ in If Apple never made AirPods, but another company made them, would you still buy them?
I wouldn't buy AirPods because the audio quality is shit. If they made them somehow have good quality, then I'd consider them. They're apparently coming out with the second gen of both next year, and I have my fingers crossed for some decent improvements. I'd also like to see them release a black color, so I wouldn't have to pay twice as much to get them in something other than that annoying white.

I don't think there'd be a reduction in the number of people using wireless audio though. I think that's a pretty obvious route to go.

The design of the AirPod is partly functional; the stem houses the microphones.

You can get excellent SQ and noise isolation out of IEMs.
Really? You wouldn't notice that you can now hear far better out of one ear? That's rather worrisome.

dizmo reacted to Senzelian in Crucial P2 2TB vs 970 evo Plus 2TB is it worth the extra 85$?
I would not put much weight on the advertised life-span of SSDs.

I can ensure you, that the drive will very likely exceed the advertised TBW by hundreds of TB.

It is important to note that the reason for why the Crucial P2 is so much cheaper than the Samsung 970 Evo, comes down to R&D of Samsung's own controller and the removal of DRAM cache on the P2. It uses HMB (Host-Memory-Buffer) as a replacement. This is also where it loses most of its performance in responsetimes to the Samsung. This doesn't mean that the P2 is a bad drive tho. It's still excellent, especially for its price. I highly recommend to go for the P2. One benefit of the P2 and one of the reasons I believe it might outlast the Samsung, is the much lower power consumption and the therefor lower thermals.

dizmo reacted to Bad5ector in Is MSI on their shit again?
They had a subsidiary that is under their corporate umbrella that is only supposed to sell B-stock, or return type products, sell some of their 30xx series cards at double the MSRP during the height of the shortages. I don't think it was MSI intentionally doing it, more of a lonewolf who ran the shop, but still underhanded and they were caught. So they offered refunds on the difference that was charged.

What the OP is showing us, looks to be just another Scalper, not affiliated with MSI. Just happens that they are selling an MSI card. The devil is in the details.

dizmo got a reaction from DaRk0 in As ASUS employee warns gamers that AMD 6800XT will be in very limited supply at launch, expected to sell out within minutes.
This news shouldn't be surprising in the least, and anyone thinking AMD would have tons of stock at launch is either new to the space, or has their head so far into AMDs junk they won't see light for days.

There's many more parts to a GPU than there is to a CPU, so it's easier to have stock issues. There's a worldwide pandemic, which can result in supply shortages, difficulty simply shipping the items, as well as drastically increased demand (which in itself is multi pronged, as it accounts for both demand from people being stuck at home, as well as the large increase in performance).

Most GPU launches have had shortages of supply. In the state we're in, it really shouldn't be a shock that it's worse than usual.

Why? It's not like they haven't been building supply in the meantime. They knew their launch date, it's not a surprise to them, and waiting makes absolutely no sense. Just get what you have out the door and to customers. People crying that they can't spend hundreds of their dollars on a luxury item is pathetic.
Funny how you say Nvidia dropped the ball, yet AMD is heading in the same direction. It's simply demand outpacing supply.
IMO it makes absolutely no sense to wait. Just sell what you have.
At least he can cash in on that $10...
Really, though, if he sold the card he needs for work before he had a new one in hand, he deserves what he gets. It's the only way he'll learn.
I mean, if you're looking at higher end competitive AMD cards, it's been what...6? 7 years?
Basically the same premise with drugs.
Attacking the supply is rarely the answer, you have to take away the demand. There will always be supply.

Like I said in the CPU thread when almost all AMD CPUs were sold out in minutes, if this forum isn't full of inane and completely unfounded conspiracy theories about AMD like they have been about Nvidia then I'll be very disappointed.
But my guess is that it won't.
