I'm currently using one commander pro and my one fan is connected to my mobo fan header. I'm using a NZXT H440, and I'm using water and air.

I have 4 4pin fan headers on my mobo. What are you saying for the second sentence using y splitters off fan headers? Also its okay that your not a rgb expert.

The rgb control is separate from the fan control. I feel like Ill probably not be able to controller the fan speed through the software though.

I can change the fan speeds individually in the corsair software, but I have them set to the same speed anyways. So yeah I guess I can try that.
