    Installing macOS Sierra on an iMac I found on the curb yesterday. The previous owner had written "Dead CPU" on it. Nope, just a bad hard drive.

      Similar to how a dumpster-dived projector I currently have mounted on the ceiling of my bedroom had a note on it saying overheated and pink image, but it had no problems whatsoever.

      Yep. I'm using this iMac right now just to see how well it runs. I'm not sure if I want to keep it or not. It's a Mid 2010 21.5" model with a Core i3. Not too bad, but lower end than a lot of my machines. I may sell it on and make a bit of a profit. I could probably sell it for $100 easy.

      I was informed that my iMac had GPU problems, but I'm yet to run into any of those.

       

      Once you crack it open, it's not super difficult to upgrade the CPU if you want to go that route.
