home group hosting is also in home.

also, bitlocker is basically irrelevant for a desktop. and only neccesary if you need drive encryption. unless someone steals your pc or breaks into your house and steals the drive, you don't need it.
to shell out like €70 more for bitlocker is not worth it.

and another thing, shady tactics to get Windows for cheap are a really stupid idea. 9/10 times it's against the Windows EULA.
just get it from the Microsoft store. you are spending more than $1000 on your build, so Windows cost is irrelevant.

1080p surround for productivity really is not that difficult to get working. gaming at 5760x1080 is a different story though.

i currrently have 3 1080p displays on my 1050 just fine. plays old games like gta4 in surround really nicely.

    What settings?
He should only have been getting the performance of an iGPU since it will use the connected display to render and output.
Are you sure he wasn't messing with you?

cheap ssd's are not always terrible. i bought a €40 ssd, a 60gb silicon power ssd, over 2 years ago. i installed Windows on that about 20 times, and it still works.

    *facepalm*

It's like people blaming their house for being dirty and smelly instead of properly taking care of their stuff and cleaning up.

There's nothing wrong with windows 10.
The people that dislike it are behaving like old people, just against change.

If you clean install windows properly, you won't have any issues.
If you read through all the settings and change the options, you also won't have any "tips" or advertisements.

If your concern is security and privacy, you should stop using the internet and cell phones.
Avoiding windows 10 is not going to solve anything.

    1. get a 8th gen core i3
    2. the stock cooler that comes with the cpu is fine
    3. use the money you saved with the cpu cooler for a gtx 1050, which is a lot faster (http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1050-vs-AMD-RX-550/3650vs3925)
    4. get a new mobo, that has the bare essential features on it that you need.

I just recently (3 days ago) went through the same process and it worked out fine after signing into my re-install of windows 10.
Download the windows 10 image from microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and follow the instructions for creating a bootable media (in my case, usb flash).
While installing it will provide you the option of entering the key at once or skipping that step. Just skip and continue until you're asked to sign into your microsoft account. After doing that my windows 10 pro is genuine again and behaving nicely!
    Hope this helps

Ashley xD reacted to hardtofindinthefuture in The LTT youtube channel has become alot worse
Im sure all of you have seen the linus tech tips youtube channel, and they made pretty good content until recently.

And this video has a lot of flaws and is one of my main parts in my opinion why the channel is getting worse.
Now let me address some of the things i think  are wrong with this video
    1. at 5:07 Linus says "If everyone else is doing it, it means it works" There is alot of things wrong with that statement 1. If you want your content to be well, better than others. You have to work for it, There is no shortcut to success. if you disagree with me, Show me 1 video that is genuinely a well made thought out video.
    2. The last parts of the video is Linus basically explaining to the viewers that "We need more money, we should get away with click bait"
And if you base yourself as a business you should act more like a business.

Next thing is the decline in my interest in the tech quickie videos
I used to love them, But now there poorly researched and very unprofessional

    here is a few examples
    New
    1. Self promotion at the beginning
    2. The videos have just lost the professionally in my opinion

    Now an older one
Notice how theirs no self promotion at the beginning
And how more professional it looks and feels with the information and how its delivered.

    This is just my opinion
Im hoping the channel will change and become like it used to be.

    budget?

i'm pretty sure a gt730 doesn't have the connectors neccesary for 4k (displayport or hdmi 2.0) but you could look this up. i can't because connectors vay by cards. so a gigabyte one might have different connectors than a msi card.

    what @rhyseyness said.

go with a high quality unit that has enough power for your needs.
  25. Agree
Ashley xD reacted to rhyseyness in is 850 watts safe for 1080ti?
    More watts is not dangerous.
More watts just means your power supply is capable of delivering more power than you need.

Your system power will always be the same (i.e. yours will probably be about 350-400W.)
You need your power supply to be able to deliver at least as much power as your system consumes.

What people are telling you is that 850W is enough to power 2 1080ti's.
If I were you, I'd be buying a high quality 500-600W supply.

850W is more than you will use, and your power supply will not be running at it's highest efficiency if it's capable of much more power than you're using.
A HIGHER RATED POWER SUPPLY WILL NOT DELIVER MORE POWER TO YOUR SYSTEM, IT IS JUST CAPABLE OF DELIVERING MORE POWER.

    Hope this helps
