Yeah, the connector is good for around 320-350 watts.
Each pair or wires is good for around 9-12A ... 12v x 9-12a = >100w .... so around 100 watts per pair of wires. Overall the connector is de-rated to around 350 watts when all four pairs of wires are used due to how close the wires are together in the connector (accounting for heating, redundancy, safety etc)

Most of the time the MAinboart is fine when the PSU dies... you just can try if it works because PSUs can die in many different was and can take componets with them

i would check your GPU sounds more like an GPU problem, maybe your PSU has a 0-fan-mode and that is why its not spinning
