Enderman got a reaction from HanZie82 in Frame rates... how much is too much?
It depends because the human eye isn't analogue, so an image that changes slightly every frame (eg. a video on a screen) is completely different from a white square flashlight on a black background, or the flash of a bulb.

There's a bunch of papers on it you can find.
2-3khz seems to be the typical limit for a general human being.

    Brilliant, thank you!

Do they have diminishing returns after a certain length? I've found a 20m cable which doesn't cost much more than the 15m version and looks like it'll do the trick

Less than $200 for a 15m optical one, in the link above.

Turns out it wasn't the SSD. It appears to have been the BIOS since I couldn't even boot from USB. (Unable to load anything into RAM). I flashed a new version and everything seems fine for now. Got an new SSD just in case 🙃

If it's on an exhaust all it's doing is removing dust from your room, not the PC.

This stuff is basically the same as mining, except less profitable. ^^^
And mining already isn't profitable, so if you're looking to make money you should get a job.

Enderman got a reaction from adzetko in Heating up pool water
The way to do this is to use heat exchangers and stick the heat exchangers inside the pool. This way the watercooling loop water does not mix with the pool water which would destroy your tubing and waterblocks.
The pool water needs to contain chlorine.
The loop water needs to contain other more concentrated biocides and anticorrosives.
This method would cool the loop and heat up the cool water without mixing the two, and yes it would work because a pool can absorb like billions of joules of heat due to all the water heat capacity.

    It's literally just an address.
Like it doesn't make a difference if your house number is 2567 or 2569 or 2678, it's just a number.

Do a clean install if you want windows to work properly and not have issues in the future.
Just move your data to the HDD temporarily and then move it back.

Yeah, assuming you have a good fan controller, you should be able to run them much slwoer.
Even half speed will be loud though, but maybe that's just me.
    I run my fans at 500rpm 🙂

Enderman got a reaction from malawar in Liquid cooling temps depend on case airflow? Case mod?
    1) yes but with radiators you can make them much bigger than a heatsink for more area, which means more cooling even with the same airflow.

    2) Yes if you increase airflow then it will be even better for liquid cooling too

    3) Just get good fans that perform well but aren't too loug
