maybe once the many... many issues with them are resolved. most curved panels are VA which have problems being curved like uniformity and smearing issues. they are also more expensive so adoption rate is low. if you are not sitting directly in front of it at a specific distance away from it, then the image is distorted which is really annoying.

you should have at least put this into a github gist so this post would not have been so fucking big. there isn't any formatting on here either so its impossible to go through.

Edit: what made you think its installing something?

    we also need more details:
    Size?
    Weight/thickness?
good keyboard/mouse or it doesn't matter?
    RGB?
    build quality?
    storage?
    webcam? ( < -- especially important now)
    ports?
do you care if it runs hot?
do you need a good quality screen? (matte/glossy/color accuracy/refresh rate)
^^^^ - we need more info as there are 1000's of models you can choose.

They do make outdoor access points that you could maybe mount to the house outside facing the deck. Im not sure how well it will work, not sure what they are rated for distance wise for outdoor units. I will say this, our patio is probably 20 feet from where our router is, and it get decent 5Ghz signal out there. So an outdoor AP might work fine.

If you do run Ethernet, you're going to want to bury it under ground and bring it up to the deck. Thats a whole other set of issues. As you would most likely need to pull a permit and have a pro do it. Because you need to be careful of under ground utilities and such.

The other option would be a Building to Building wireless link, like the Ubiqtui Air Fiber, it would be a dedicated wireless link between the house and deck. BUT then you would need to plug the wireless dish in to the device at the deck directly or in to a Wireless Access point if you want WiFi out there.

I don't know how well it will work because the wiring at your home may be old or it may work really well because its new. If you live in an area where you can return a product of it does not work well, give powerline adapters a shot. They basically try to use the existing wiring in your home to transmit ethernet data. (its basically tuning your electricity wires around the house into ethernet cables). the effectiveness is highly dependent on the house and the way its all wired up. I suggest you do your research on how to set it up properly because this post will become too big otherwise (I also can't be bothered to write like 200 more words).

You run fiber in around 99% of data center applications. Copper Cat6/Cat8 is generally for 10Gbps or lower bandwidth connections, Cat8 can do 25Gbps or 40Gbps depending on the spec but there isn't any gear that uses it and probably won't anytime soon. Fiber (most applications) or some copper Twinax(at 0.5/1/3/5/7 meters fixed length) is for everything else. Twinax is really cheap but fixed speeds so you need to rip/replace the whole cable to upgrade. Fiber you just need to swap the (Q)SFP modules to change speed without ripping out cabling.

Ignoring Twinax fixed length which can do 400Gbps today at 7-10 meters I believe, fiber can do thousands of kilometers (at 400Gbps+ as well) and copper RJ45 can do 100m but is basically dead in most data center applications where 25Gbps+ of speed is needed.

Ethernet needs to run hundreds of meters, the 48 Gbit/s bandwidth can realistically only be achieved over short distances on passive cables.

Unfortunately, neither machine is going to be able to run the game satisfactory. You'll need a completely new system to really get any decent experience. You'll be lucky to even run FSX well with those specs.

none of those will even come close to being able to run that. sorry bud.. you're either gonna have to wait a long time before it comes to console, or spend about $700usd + monitor/peripherals + tax to be able to run that.

I would highly suggest waiting for a few weeks if you can. new hardware is on the horizon which will lower prices for current gen hardware. used market will also be flooded with hardware so you can easily get good deals.

remote desktop? its a pretty common thing to use. Chrome remote desktop is pretty popular and easy to use, but its fairly basic. try that and see if you have any issues. remember, this requires good internet or the experience won't be good. you will always have latency and compression problems so it won't be perfect.

Hate those bandwidth, life sucking ads. Especially if I’m listening to a Youtube video (some things really would work as audio-only) during a drive home, and I get some ad that lasts for multiple minutes that I can’t skip, because being a good driver comes first.

this is similar to what VPNs scare you into. NO, using public wifi is not a problem as long as you visit a website using HTTPS.
same thing applies here. as long as the website you are using is https or TLS or something secure, it should not matter.

The_Vaccine reacted to WereCatf in Question about using a cellphone as a hotspot for laptop
Yes, if the login-information is sent over unencrypted HTTP. Alas, pretty much all websites and services these days use HTTPS or TLS and as such that is not a concern. The malware could still try to do a man-in-the-middle attack, but you'd get a certificate-warning on your PC, so it still wouldn't work unless you specifically told your browser to ignore the warning and continue anyways.
