The_Vaccine got a reaction from dreamcast4599 in need help undervolting my cpu
each cpu is different (even if it is the same model). some cpu can undervolt a lot if you get lucky, while some may not undervolt at all.
what you can do is decrease it a little and test if it still works, then decrease it more and test again. keep going until it stops working. once it doesnt work anymore, increase it more than the lowest you could go (to make sure it is still stable) .

The_Vaccine reacted to bellabichon in 5600x with a normal 3060
For gaming, yes. A 3600 (preferably overclocked) and a 3060ti/3070 is a better pairing, because most games are pretty GPU-bound these days.

I typically bookmark something if it's that important, but even then, I have so many thousands of bookmarks to begin with. I have to agree, being able to make different save for later categories (kinda like Facebook does) would be handy.

can we get a feature to save certain posts as kinda like a 'read later' type of thing? I like how reddit has a save feature so if you need to reference something in the future or show somebody something, its quick and easy to find.

The_Vaccine reacted to airborne spoon in alternatives to nicehash
short answer NO
long answer hell no 🤣 if you buy BTC through paypal you are not actually buying BTC as you cant spend or send it anywhere and you don't have a wallet. Basically the BTC bought through paypal is like them saying you own x amount in BTC but you don't have access to it in any way unless you want to sell it back to us.
If you want to turn your BTC to a fiat currency like USD or EURO you need to send the coin to a exchange, I use kraken.com and they are very user friendly. once your funds arrive in that account you can then exchange it for fiat, then transfer that to your normal bank account.

HDTVTest has lots of really high quality reviews. he tests pretty much everything you need to know.

The_Vaccine got a reaction from xg32 in Is it normal for a monitor's colour accuracy to become noticably worse over time?
i don't think that is normal. sure, over time colors will drift slightly so you will need to calibrate frequently for sensitive work, but in normal use cases it shouldn't drift that noticeably.

The_Vaccine reacted to airborne spoon in alternatives to nicehash
I don't know about using it outside NH however, looking at the graph nicehash has on their site you don't gain squat from using it. And you also need to remember there is a variance in your spped just by the nature of it. My mining rig with 6x 570s goes between 140 and 185mh/s so it's hard to justify a .01 boost by using their software. My one 5700xt goes between 44 and 103mh/s.
Now if it's configureable to mine in a different pool besides NH then I'd say go for it, nothing to lose, but if not I don't see the point in using it.

yeah nicehash fees are complete trash i highly recommend you move somewhere else.
For profit margins your probably gonna have best returns mining ETH, that's what i have my rig mining at this time.
i love ethermine.org they have a 1% pool fee which is fine and payouts are consistent and you can set your payout to as low as 0.05 ETH.
for setup and running i use Phoenix miner its very easy to setup and has a ton of config options, sometimes the newest version comes up as malware with virus programs, (pretty common for mining for some reason) but its totally cool just tell your virus program to ignore that folder and you're good to go
For a wallet you have many options however i always prefer to have my own access to my wallet not someone else for ETH i use MetaMask and some friends use My Ether wallet. there is a ton of options just look at the various ones and decide on what one has the level of security with the level of access you desire.
For example my BTC wallet I use Bitcoin Core which is very secure but i can only access it on my home computer.

AMD one by a mile!
first one has a HDD hybrid drive so it's not going to be snappy, light gaming will be barely possible on the igpu
second one is all SSD, better graphics so you should be able to play 900p med or 1080 low on most modern titles
IO is effectively the same for both, battery life will likely be the same or close enough, I believe the first one doesn't come with but supports certain pen input.

The_Vaccine got a reaction from lexusgamer05 in Help picking my new laptop
right now is probably the worst time to buy a new laptop. AMD, Intel, and Nvidia have all announced new products for laptops so new ones are coming very soon. If you can wait 1-3 months, please do so.
there are now 2 scenarios:
1. the ones you chose right now will become cheaper and you save money
2. some laptop that is currently out of your budget will become cheaper so you can buy it. brands will discount the current laptops so they can clear stock and make space for the new ones.
if you are unable to wait even 2 months and you really need one right now, then go for the AMD laptop (laptop 2)

lol no no. I don't want to live without that either, its quite useful.
Well, I dunno.. I'm sick of Chrome and its RAM eating frenzy but still... Firefox need modernisation imo. It feels like the same Firefox 15 years ago to me, so currently using Edge for a while lol. Ugh... 🤢

The_Vaccine got a reaction from SpiderMan in Low GPU Usage in All Games
try DDU to reinstall your drivers. could be a corruption in the driver that is making things weird.
make sure XMP/DOCP is enabled in the bios.
try re-insterting the GPU and make sure all cables are properly plugged into the GPU (including all the power cables).
if that doesn't help, download GPU-Z and check if it lists a PerfCap Reason (in the sensors tab).
if that still doesn't help, back up your computer and try a windows reinstall.

With a price difference like that I'd just go for the OEM one. That said, I have purchased a battery off of eBay before to replace a dangerously dead one in my Samsung ultrabook. Worked flawlessly for another 4 years, and I sold it on. Just make sure it has good reviews and you should be fine.
