  1. I'd say take a look at the Be Quiet! pure rock, Cooler master hyper 212x or if it's within the budget, the Be Quiet! shadow rock 2/slim. They're all good coolers that will do well at cooling the 6600K at lower overclocks, just don't expect to get a 4.7Ghz stable OC from one of them.
  2. So Scan have a 980ti matrix for £359, worth getting? A decent enough 1070 is about £50 more.

Whichever has the best performance. You know this, mate. ;)

  3. With No Man's Sky, I've got 12 hours of gameplay now, still in my first solar system, but I'm gold farming right now as my starter planet is absolutely covered in the stuff, might as well make money now whilst I've got the time and resources to do so. I've just gone onto the experimental branch, so hopefully that'll sort out the alt+tab issue, the game would never open back up, although I could still control it from the desktop, that was my issue with it. It's a good game in my opinion, admittedly I still want them to add multiplayer to it, even if it's just local multi
  4. GTX 770, i7 4790K, getting 50-60fps on max at 1080p, I've had the odd bit of lag but nothing to complain about. I'd agree with @Hasle about alt tabbing out, whenever I do, it will continue to run but will not display the game and will remain on my desktop, even though I can control it still.
  5. Honestly, I've been running it fine at high details and max frame rate on a gtx 770 and i7 4790k, I initially experienced a bit of lag, but it settled down as I went on. I'm currently on the starting planet, which it a frozen planet at -67.5C and it's a tricky one to manage, it's not like an elder scrolls game where you can hoard every item you come across, you really do have to make sure you don't run out of space, however it's fortunate that you can constantly send items back to your ship at any point, although your ship will run out of space as well at some point. I do agree that
  6. No Man's sky is installing, virgin are offering a speed upgrade and I think I've finally sorted out OBS to start streaming. Today is a good day indeed.

It seems to me that it's mostly a very vocal few, and people running maxwell gpus that are having issues, I'm not the only one with a 770 that has it running smoothly

Lucky. Glad you're enjoying it though. I've not heard anything good as I said.

yeah, most people are complaining either due to it not performing well for them, or because it's "not what they expected" when it was never going to be elder scrolls: the final frontier, which I think most people were looking for.

  7. http://www.zboardshop.com/ that's what the z board is, it's the one Linus reviewed but they've made it considerably better than that model.
  8. flip knife, personal choice for convenience really, nothing to do with CS:GO. Z board or Boosted board?
  9. If I was a US citizen, I'd vote Clinton, purely because I would prefer her to get in than trump, at least she hasn't managed to bankrupt 4 companies and isn't blatantly racist (these days at least). If she was wise, Clinton would put Sanders as one of her secretaries of something or other, to get the backing of most millennials, and hope that trump manages to keep spouting absolute nonsense.
  10. flick g1 has arrived, feels interesting in the hand, definitely a lot lighter and lower than the g600, but the buttons feel nice and it seems responsive. Also have no issues with the wandering sensor as some people have reported. Expect a full review at some point in the future that may or may not exist.

  11. Just ordered myself a new mouse, gonna try out the fnatic flick g1, the G600 is just too heavy for use in overwatch.

      All of them past 2015.

The ones before had some sensor issues at lower sensitivities. I used to be able to out pace the sensor in my old EC1 eVo. With my ZA11 and EC1-A, I don't have that issue and I'm on roughly the same low sensitivity.

  12. I'd give that a 7/10. the focus, colours and subject are all really good, you must have bribed it to pose like that for you! The only complaint is the brightness, maybe close the apeture a little more and it'd be even better. Here's another cars and coffee photo, took this about 3 meets back when there was a fair amount of italian supercars about, including an original F40 in yellow!
  13. Is it worth adding another 16GB of ram to my rig, even if just for bragging rights? The current ram in my system, hyperx fury 1866Mhz has jumped £15 in price in about 2 weeks, and it doesn't look like it's coming down any time soon.

      Thorium19

Oh a GPU upgrade is on the cards, I'm just waiting for a bit more money and the 1070 to drop in price a little bit. I don't even use 16GB yet, 12 is about the most I see used on average. To be honest, I'm not even sure that the front slot is clear enough to fit another stick of ram in. Maybe I'll get more ram another time.

I don't even know how people use more than 12 anyways... you video edit?

it's when I'm at uni, I have chrome and firefox running, each with plenty of tabs, plus I'll have steam running, plus I'll likely have a few uni specific programs running that aren't the best optimised, shall we say.

  14. So EE have a great deal on sim only contracts for existing customers. 16GB of data, unlimited calls and texts for just £16.50 a month on a 12 month contract. I'm seriously tempted to just pay off my existing contract and go for this deal.

Laying in bed, I have 2 bars on 3G with 3. Though they're growing extremely fast, they need to expand their coverage more than just a 2mm diameter.

Annoyingly, looks like my phone is going to die before I get my hands on something new. The WiFi no longer stays connected.

    2. Thorium19

      Thorium19

That problem sounds very similar to me, a lot like I had with my Z3, the wifi would cut out whenever you tried to load anything with wifi. I think I hit my data limit twice before I picked up a new phone.

  15. So if this is going to be a theme, I'll rate two and post one, so the next person will rate one and post none 1. 7/10 I like the subject, as well as the background, although the muted colours kind of detract a little from it, overall a really nice photo though. 2. 9/10 This is really nice, the colouration, the subject, the scene all look great, wish I could find subjects like that when going to the countryside, sheep are kinda boring to photograph. So I've been going to the Liverpool Cars and Coffee a few times now, and I've gotten some photos from there, bo
  16. I'd love to get a GTX 1070, but with the cheapest decent ones being £400 at a minimum, it's unrealistic for me to buy. Looks like I'll be getting a GTX 1060 for now, and upgrading sooner.

480 is a no go, I can't use AMD, not when I have a shield and use gamestream

getting a 980ti on ebay is also not an option, I'd rather avoid getting something for my main system from ebay, maybe for another rig I would consider doing so.

    2. themctipers

      themctipers

      I dislike amd also.

It's not that I dislike AMD, if I wasn't already integrated into nvidias ecosystem then I'd switch sides in a heartbeat. I've helped one of my mates upgrade his GPU before today with an AMD GPU, and most of my friends have AMD based systems, I personally take the view thet whatever is the best is the one to use, and although the RX 480 is very very good, and my personal choice over the 1060, I just can't go for it due to my past decision to get a shield.

  17. I think it's 500 minutes of call time, unlimited texts and 2GB data a month for £23.50 a month I'm hoping that at the start of next year I can move to sim only and get either unlimited, or at the least 10gb of data
  18. I really wouldn't, if you want a larger battery, either buy a battery case or use a battery bank, as opening up a phone which doesn't have a removable battery, and trying to replace it is ill advised, especially if the battery is not a certified one. If you're having issues with the battery life of your S7, try turning off auto sync and reducing the location accuracy to just gps.

    GTX 480

really? I could get overclocking it to a sensible level, running a benchmark or folding @ home in the background, then watching as his room heats up to unbearable levels, but overclocking it until it or his system fries is just wrong on so many different levels it would't pass in a multi storey car park.
  20. I'd say the S7 is definitely worth the extra money. I stumped up for one and I've not regretted it at all. It's waterproof, has a gorgeous amoled display and touchwiz is no issue at all these days, although I always use nova launcher on the top anyway. I did use touchwiz for a week before installing nova launcher and it's a lot better than the last time I used it in the gingerbread/jelly bean days, comparable to the sony UI I would say in speed. Waterproofing is something that I look for specifically in a phone, and it's something that is very useful in many situations.
  21. I should be able to stretch for that, might have to add some of my own money into it, but then again, I'l reap the benefit whenever I'm there. They're with virgin media, so it's pretty easy to set up if I recall.
  22. yeah, I didn't have a driving instructor for 22 of those months, I just bought a beat up old corsa, got learner insurance and got my dad to teach me the basics, it was just down to how frequently the two of us could be free at the same time to be able to go out driving. I ended up only having about 10 lessons, most of it being spent on doing the manoeuvres and the instructor showing me the areas where the test would be done. To be honest, out of my friends I'm ahead of the curve, most of them haven't even started learning or have spent a small fortune on lessons then not done the t
  23. So I finally passed my practical driving test after 2 years learning, and I've bought a ford KA, one of the newer ones based on the fiat 500 chassis, it's the zetec 1.2l model, in dive blue. Very nice to drive, tall riding position for a small car, with a very quiet engine. The only issue I have is that is has stop start built in, which is a real pain in the arse, as it's cut out the engine a few times now, including on a hill whilst stuck in traffic. If I could turn it off permanently, instead of having to reset it every time I get in the car, then it would really be a bonus.
  24. So I'm working on upgrading my parents home network, due to the complaints of not being able to stream 4K netflix properly or get a good nvidia gamestream link in the room where the TV is, which is at the opposite end of the house. The solution? Turning the current ISP router into a modem, then wiring a new router to the middle of the house. The issue, is what router to get. I've been given a budget of £100 to get a router, most likely off of amazon.co.uk and am looking at what is the best one to get. What I've seen so far is the Netgear D6400, although I don't know if there are
  25. running a gtx 770 at the minute, lovely lovely kepler, which can pass the steam VR benchmark, albeit if I run VR games at low settings, which no one wants to have to do. So an RX 480 would be an awesome upgrade, meaning I might be able to "borrow" one of my lecturers htc vives for "coursework" purposes.
