  1. Hi all, I need some help finding good sounding headphones (by good sounding I mean a good balance between bass, mids, and highs, not mega bass heavy) that are also really comfortable. For reference, I've tried the Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones and those, while they sound good, are too small for me. The earcups are too small which is a big deal breaker. I need good comfy earcups, adjustable size, and good sound (preferably closed back too). No bluetooth, just wired is fine. Another note: My current daily drivers are the HyperX Cloud II's and they are the most comfor
  2. Hey all! Just built a new gaming/productivity rig and am currently using a sub-par usb wifi adapter since my router is on another floor. Any suggestions on good PCI-e wifi cards?
  3. Hello forum! I have this super old spare laptop lying around and want to turn it into a classic game emulator but it is super slow. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L305-S5955 with an Intel Celeron Dual Core processor in it and 2 GB of DDR2-800 memory (talk about old lol). It also has a super old 160 GB HDD. Because this laptop is so old I am wondering would upgrading the storage drive to an SSD be worth it, or should I not bother? Thanks
  4. I will probably be doing bigger projects down the road. For the time being they are smaller but I might want to experiment with some bigger projects on my own.
  5. I only half answered your question, my bad. Not really sure specific types of programming, but I do plan to possibly make games in my free time or be an indie dev at some point.
  6. My job will most likely involve programming, possibly some virtualization and the such. I am currently working on a Bachelor's in CS.
  7. Hello! I am planning a build for the future, and am thinking of what processor I should go with. I want to game on this computer but I will probably also be doing a bunch of programming too, so I was wondering what CPU would be best optimized for this kind of build? *Edit: the build budget will be ~$2000 USD
  8. Just woke up from a super intense dream, but as it ended there was a squarespace sponsor slot for some convention that doesn't exist given by Linus.
  9. So I am just putting together a list of parts for fun for a future build I may do, and I was looking for a long term storage option (at least 2TB) other than the SSD for the OS. I looked at the WD Black because of the great performance, but then a few lines down, I see the same amount of storage on a Seagate Barracuda for half the price! What exactly is the difference that makes the WD Black so much more expensive? Is the extra price worth it?
  10. I looked at the ATH-M40X and ModMic and almost went with it, but it went over budget a bit much, and didn't want to go used, so I went with the Cloud II's from HyperX because they have great performance and are built well for the price.
  11. lol this is so late, but I did end up getting this laptop and it has suited me fantastically, and will throughout college and then some
  12. Hello! I am looking for good suggestions on a gaming headset for around $100.
