And the 3070 is basically the same as the Sapphire, as it doesn't have the fan in the back.
And as far as I have seen many AIB models also have holes in the backplate showing the heatsink, so that might be pretty common this gen.

Nvidia themselves kinda said that RT performance increase isn't much different than the rasterization one.

You can see here that the improvements in non-RT games isn't much different than the ones with RT, and DF results kinda show the same.

    On the cooler:
Sapphire have done the throw hot air towards the top of the case multiple times in the past:
    Fury Tri-X
    Vega 56
Both which are much the same idea as the cooler on the 3070.
And probably there are others with similar solutions, so it's not like that throwing air at the CPU haven't been done before, what haven't been done is the fan being at the back like on the 3090/3080(as far as I know).
Also one thing is that from the look of the DF video, the FE cooler probably have the fan stop feature, as the GPU fan wasn't spinning even though the system was turned on at the start of the video(1:40 or so). The FE cooler might actually be a good option this time, if it is quiet enough it will probably be a nice option at what seems to be the MSRP for the basic models(?), hopefully the cooler on the 3070 and possibly 3060 also ends up being good.

Probably the reviews will be out by the launch day.

ComputerBase benchmarks also show the 2080Ti with a 104 FPS avg. with 89 FPS lows at 4K Ultra Nightmare (Edit: looks like it's on High, I'm not sure, but they show that the performance difference between Ultra Nightmare and High isn't that big, it's ~6% when using the 2070 Super.), so Nvidia numbers doesn't seem that far off, at least when looking the few sections of the video showing the 2080Ti. Still probably DOOM is a best case for the new GPUs, otherwise Nvidia wouldn't use it.

There seems to be quite a bit of conflicting information on these new cards regarding this. This is what the spec sheet says for the 3070:

KaitouX got a reaction from Mateyyy in AMD Radeon RX 5300 Officially Announced
Good luck finding someone that would use this GPU with a B550 or X570 board. For most people this GPU will be limited to PCIe 3.0 x8, just like the 5500XT, which the 4GB had already shown issues due to low memory+PCIe 3 x8.

AMD doesn't think so, they are competing against the 1650.

    Edit:
If it was as fast as the 1650 Super, it would be as fast as the 5500XT 4GB. And it would suffer even more when VRAM matters. Also based on previous launches AMD is probably going to price the GPU according to the one they compared to, which is the 1650.

KaitouX got a reaction from gloop in Are AIO’s really worth the effort?
This isn't right, $80 AIOs are usually not really better than $80 air coolers, you need to go to around $120+ to get to the ones worth getting if you really want lower temps.
What is the temperature you're getting? And what cooler do you have?

They probably saw the shitty 1650 and thought "We can beat that, we can increase the price", but then Nvidia came with the 1650 Super and destroyed AMD hopes and dreams with the 5500XT lol.
The 5600XT was really weird, because they compared it with the 1660 Ti even though everyone knew that the 1660 Super was basically the same but much cheaper, the update mess was probably the only way they were able to make it decent without lowering the price closer to 1660 Super levels.

I'm expecting AMD to price RDNA2 at the same price as Ampere ~-5%, really don't expect them to try to move the market much, so I think it might keep happening. 5500XT and 5600XT being priced the same to what AMD considered it's Turing equivalents kinda implies this for me, really shows that the 5700 and 5700XT were only well priced because they had less features.

Yeah it was such an odd launch, coming in after the 1650 Super and more expensive than it while being better at pretty much nothing.
The 5600XT was an even worse launch but at least they made up for it after the fact.

Hopefully they won't have as many hiccups with RDNA2, though I'm definitely not betting on it.

Who want to bet that the benchmarks shown were using PCIe 4.0 and when you use 3.0 you're going to have a really bad time? The 5500XT 4GB already was bad, this is probably going to be laughable. Unless it costs under $100 it isn't a forgivable issue in my opinion, and it doesn't, otherwise they wouldn't compare it against the 1650.

Interesting that the part of the code that seems to refer to the memory seems to be the same as the 3070 (some of them), and the part that refers to the GPU says "104", maybe we would be looking at the 3060 using the cut-down GA104 with 8GB of VRAM? not a confirmation in any way, but there's a chance, hopefully it's right, because fuck having $300+ 6GB GPUs in 2020 like rumors were implying.
Both 3070 and 3080 have what seems to be memory variants, so that could also be happening, like some rumors have indicated, at least Palit considers that there's a chance.

It would be pretty good if it was right about the memory configuration and the 104 die on the 3060, but it's in no way confirmation, so take it with some salt.

AMD and Intel are both going to have another generation on the same board, Intel have been doing 2 generations per chipset for quite some time, it's hard to think they would change now, after that both are probably going to release new boards to support DDR5.
What stability issues? There have been issues with Zen 2 CPUs not being able to reach the advertised clockspeed close to the launch, but that was fixed and there wasn't any common issues regarding stability with Zen 2 as far as I remember. Isolated cases of people having issues happens regardless of the CPU brand.

If you have an IOS device, can you access/sell apps without using the App Store? That's the monopoly, it isn't a monopoly on hardware or OS, it is on software distribution. There's the option of jailbreak, but that's obviously something that would be considered unreasonable for most people, and Apple obviously doesn't support it.

If you check topics/news of the Turing launch you will see how many people said there wouldn't be a Titan, and that the 2080Ti was replacing the Titan V or things like that.

And so was the 11GB on the 1080Ti. Also according to a rumor from kopite7kimi the 3080 would have both 10GB and 20GB versions, basically forcing the 3090 to have the same or more.

On the memory of the supposed 3090: Nvidia basically didn't increase VRAM since Pascal release, I would sure hope that this time around they're going to do it, and that they won't make the GB/$ worse this time around.
