I don't think you can simply take out a drive with Windows 7 installed on it, and plug it into a whole different machine, or platform, because of the Windows 7 drivers. With Windows 10, you can, even though you probably should reinstall anyway. Please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone.

Bruno_A got a reaction from bondoao1 in Modern warfare any good?
I bought the game and played for a couple hours (don't have that much time). The last Call of Duty I played, was Modern Warfare 3, so, this was a must for me, and actually the first game I bought right after release, ever. I haven't played any of the newer ones, however, compared to MW3, this new one has a completely redesigned gun system. The recoil, the reload, everything. It just feels more realistic and reminds me of Squad, a very realistic military simulator, in a certain way. There is 2v2 and 4v4 modes as well. I've played the 2v2 and it's great. As for the campaign, I haven't played it, but people are saying it's pretty good. My recommendation is: buy it, if you like the old Call of Dutys.

Depending on your work flow, you probably don't need 32GB of RAM, but it would make a difference in performance, as it would be working in dual channel mode.

Bruno_A reacted to kshade in Tom Scott on common VPN sponsorship claims
British educational youtuber Tom Scott has released a video about common claims made in VPN sponsorship segments.

    Video summary:
You don't need a VPN to hide your password these days since SSL encryption is used almost everywhere. "Military-grade encryption" is what SSL uses as well. Not a wrong claim, but misleading. Your ISP can see what domain names you request, which is something you might want to hide with a VPN. But what they can't see is the whole URL. VPN providers can be compromised by hackers or governments as well. They are great for circumventing geo-blocking and piracy though, but you can't really advertise with that. Originally, this video was sponsored by a VPN provider, but they dropped it last second. tl;dr: VPNs are not a general necessity because of SSL

I'm not posting this here as an attack on LTT or anything like that, and I'm aware that many of you will already know most of this. I'm just seeing a lot of channels with less of a tech-focused audience (and owners) do actual scare-mongering that it makes me glad that this easy to understand counterpoint exists.

Why not 1440p? You could achieve that, with your budget.

It could very well be a fan. Sometimes, I experience the same issue. I only have Noctua fans, and sometimes, one of the top fans starts making a noise, as if it's touching something. I can't think of what it would be touching, apart from the actual frame of the fan. Doing something as gently shaking the case, or lifting one side and putting it back down, fixes the issue. This happens quite rarely, though.

Both phones are great. The OnePlus 7 is newer. Choose the one that has the best OS for you. As an iOS guy, the choice would be easy for me.

either keep waiting till amd comes with something better than the 5700xt.

Or bite the bullet and get the only sensible upgrade. which is the rtx 2080ti.

It's worth to ask. I already gave them a call, and left a message so they can call me back when it's my turn in the support queue. The whine is very annoying, but buying a graphics card now, really isn't something I wanted.

Bruno_A got a reaction from Tolrag in Is this a good estimate for my desktop? Want to sell it (Europe, €)
Way too expensive. You need to account the fact that the hardware is older. You also need to account for things such as the fact that Intel 8th gen CPUs have more cores, and are, therefore, a much more appealing option for people buying used, which makes the price of your CPU go further down. If you want a better estimate, you should probably search for similar builds on your local used market as well as eBay. That will give you a better estimate.

@bruny06 we process in order received so generally we ask that you allow up to 1-2 weeks to receive it, should be quicker for premade kits though.

You don't need a graphics card at all. Maybe just to setup the OS, but then, you'd access it remotely.

It does have turbo boost, as far as I am aware. I could be wrong, though. I believe it's a later version sample.

Bruno_A got a reaction from doomsriker in MacBook Air 2019
I have to agree with you on that. I am not a fanboy, by any means, but I do recognise the great things on my MacBook, as well as the bad things. In my opinion, the OS is great, in things such as the gestures, which I use a lot. I can't say the same, when I was using a Windows 10 Matebook 13; the keyboard is really nice. It doesn't have a lot of travel, which some people hate, but it's very clicky, which I like better, and, the trackpad is amazing. The bad things are the price, obviously, the upgradeability, or lack thereof, and the screen bezels. Being such an expensive machine, and especially because of the fact that Apple likes beauty, it should have smaller bezels. Comparing to the matebook 13, the bezels on the MacBook Air seem bigger than necessary. Ohh, and the cooling is bad.

I'm a fan of backblaze, i've been using them for a few years now and they offer all the options you are looking for, including file version backup. You can access single files that have been backed up or have them send you a whole new HDD with all your data on it, plus the consumer version has no backup limit.
