Here's what I have lying around: HP Compaq d530 CMT case (can accept microATX boards) 160GB SATA drive 320GB SATA drive 4GB DDR2 (2x1GB 1x2GB) Nvidia GeForce 6600 550 watt ATX PSU Intel Pentium E6500 Intel Desktop Board DG946GZIS Here's what I have sourced from some awesome IT teachers at school who let me take some of their old parts ATI Radeon X1300 4GB DDR2 (this is because the motherboard only h

Technology is definitely becoming more simple on the consumer side of things. Once upon a time, computers in the 90s costed thousands and they included everything that the average consumer probably never even used (PCI expansion, CPU upgrades and RAM upgrades). Now these days, the average consumer who just wants to go on the web to check Email and Facebook would just grab a Chromebook for just $250-300 with not that much expansion. So on that side, technology is becoming simple.

Don't feel guilty, appreciate what awesome parents you have and pay them back with helping them out and all that. -

Hey everyone! Looking forward to be a part of this forum! I have been into computers since 2005 when I accidentally changed the color settings on a monitor to 16 colors. In 2007, I got my first decent PC with and AMD Athlon 64 CPU. That PC lasted me (with RAM and GPU upgrades along the way) until 2015. I am now typing on an Asus laptop which is pretty decent. I am soon going to build a PC for the first time and I can't wait to share my experiences with you guys. Once again, I am hyped to join the community.
