  1. Hi All, I built a PC a couple of years ago for my sister, I had an incredibly tight budget so here are the current specs... CPU - Intel Pentium G3258 CPU (Dual Core 3.20GHz, Socket H3 LGA-1150). GPU - ASUS AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB Graphics Card. RAM - Crucial Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2), DDR3. MOBO - MSI H81M-P33 Socket 1150, mATX Motherboard. HDD - Seagate 1TB, 7200RPM. PSU - EVGA 500W She currently plays alot of GTA5 which runs just fine on this system at 1080p, medium settings. However she wants to play some more modern titles like Mafia
  2. So I built my PC in late 2012/early 2013 and it's never been upgraded. It consists of the following; CPU Intel® Core™ i5-3330 Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.20 GHz) RAM Crucial 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 GPU Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB Storage Western Digital 1TB Green PSU Corsair CX500 What are my upgrade options here in 2016? I'm not a hardcore gamer as you can expect from my 'rig' But I would like to start playing some upcoming titles such as mafia III and Planet coaster. I'm worried my machine wo
  3. Don't really know much about SSDs and their prices. Been meaning to get one for a long time. Would this be any good? Thinking it could be a boot drive with my most common used programs. *The deal* Enter Voucher code B23FSAVE5 at checkout. Free Delivery available. http://www.dabs.com/products/sandisk-120gb-ssd-plus-sata-6gb-s-2-5--solid-state-drive-B23F.html?src=2 *Edit - The code actually saves you £5 making the SSD only £29.97 :L
  4. Well I haven't yet, but it would be nice to hear from them. There's also rumours of sharing our equipment with other Virgin Media customers so we can all access each others Wi-Fi... Not sure how I feel about that
  5. @LoneRangerS Heard anything from Virgin about this yet?
  6. I dug out this game as soon as I upgraded to Windows 10, Runs without a problem.
  7. When you say 'rising every day' :L I'm hoping that's a exaggeration or you're measuring in very small units. If this is the exact! same unit as it was 2 years ago then adding more fans isn't really going to solve the deeper issue here. As others have stated 100% clean out your system, but also take a look at the programs you have installed, maybe something is putting strain on the CPU and heating things up accordingly. It's also very difficult to tell if this fluctuation is considered normal due to not having any ambient temperature data i.e you say its hot at the moment... Maybe when
  8. Yes and also the mail app has stopped working too. It will start the program and then I can't click anything. Just over a week in and already having problems... derp
  9. Maybe it's just a placebo, but I actually think my gaming performance especially in GTA 5 has increased when upgrading from windows 7 to 10. What card are you running? Make sure you have the latest driver update as I actually had one this morning from AMD. Saying that, before the update I didn't experience any problems. My course of action would be to... -Check windows update -Check for graphic driver updates -Restart a bunch of times -Check to see if there's a particular program using up system resources You have 1 month to revert back to windows 8. You can do so by going to se
  10. With the move to vessel and their 7 day exclusives before videos are available on YouTube, just how far behind are we? I remember hearing that some videos can take months to edit, but most I'm guessing can be done within a week. For e.g. with the recent office vlogs, by the time we know on YouTube that they've moved in, they could of actually been in the new office for some time. I am also guessing that a considerable amount of planning is put into the videos and that can lead to even more time before hand. What are peoples thoughts? Are we even behind or is Linus and his crew sim
  11. Three Dozen! Green and 35 shades of grey... not quite there yet spotify
  12. Funny... I had this in my subsciption box last night... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW_ypPNpU8A How do you embed YouTube Videos here?? :L
  13. Hi My current system is as follows... -CPU: Intel Core i5 3330 @ 3.00Ghz (Turbo 3.20Ghz) -RAM: 8GB DDR3, Dual channel @1330Mhz -Mobo: Gigabyte H61M-S2PV -GPU: Sapphire HD7850 2GB OC edition -PSU: Corsair CX500 The system is 2 years, 7 months and 20 days old (According to the monitoring system I use) and at the time ran games on high settings at 60Fps without any issue and I loved it, best thing I have purchased, but now with modern titles and general wear and tear, it's become sluggish... Yes partly due to not having time to regularly maintain my HDD (Planning to sort out all m
  14. Hmm Think it may be software rather than hardware. Are you launching the game via steam? If so... -Right click the game in your steam library -Click properties -Click set launch options -Type in the following -novid -nod3d9ex -threads 4 Please note the 4 represents your cpus threads. (Taken from your specs) -Click ok, then close the properties window. -Start game and let me know if this has improved anything.
  15. How old are these components? Also just out of interest what PSU and Motherboard do you have?
  16. Wait for their reply. A simple message such as 'Hey, I sent in my HD439 for repair and you've sent me back a pair of HD429's, why?' Should get the ball rolling into receiving the correct headphones. Sennheiser are usually pretty good with customer support (In my experience) Just wait and see what they say, I'm sure they'll solve it and that the HD429s were sent out in error. - Nathan
  17. Not without telling you, no, but they tried it on me and I said no way. I actually offered to set it up myself and they told me that wasn't possible. Maybe Virgin Media are changing their ways? :L
  18. Oh trust me :L They'll try and get the £49.99... remember they have two fees, £49.99 installation fee and a £49.99 activation fee. If you're a new customer you'll get an 'offer' where the £49.99 installation fee is wiped and is given for free, with a £49.99 activation fee. For existing customers, seems it's already activated, whenever you get new equipment they will charge the installation fee of £49.99. So guess what! In the end we all pay £99.98 extra just for joining... woo! Unless of course you complain and get the charge deduced off your next bill. I wouldn't stress about complaining this
  19. Instead of spending time and money developing something that ultimately is a fad and will take years to implement properly as well as even more years for people to buy headsets and crap like that. Why don't the spend time fixing the iPlayer we currently have. Along with all the other BBC pages which are either no longer available or missing their appropriate links. While they are at it how about they stop taking away more and more services or at least give us a discount on what we are no longer receiving yet still paying for. The BBC in the UK is probably the biggest joke around and wh
  20. All I can say is Wow. This should of been sorted ages ago. I'm actually surprised they offered you the super hub and TiVo box for free, that is with a £49.99 installation fee right? You can imagine from my previous posts how that phone call went :L. Yes the TV TiVo is absolutely useless. They honestly couldn't of got a bigger box for the crappiest hardware in there. 7 - 8 minutes to boot from cold and turning on from standby (Therefore leaving the TiVo box on all the time, where the harddrive constantly spins up for no reason). The fact that when you bring up any type of menu you miss wha
  21. When we moved in, we had virgin media as our provider, but the people living there previously, still had TeleWest equipment! This was promptly sorted with a firm phone call. I must admit they are pretty good at getting things sorted and the team that come to the house, did some re-wiring so that we could have the router downstairs instead of up. Unfortunately, yes, that is what I'm saying. What reason did you assume? All customers were upgraded free of charge in 2012 with promises that 1000s of cabinets across the UK would be upgraded. (My street cabinet wasn't upgraded) But! I had an e-ma
