  1. Hey there, Wannabe JayzTwoCents here, back at it with another Personal Rig update. After getting into some of the more heavy processes such as rendering, I figured "Hey, this i7 is great and all, but what if it WASN'T and i7 with Haswell-e Architecture eh? So after grabbing another PHAT 360mm Radiator, a case to squeeze it all in, and another healthy dose of my (Questionably terrible) Hand Bent Tubing runs: I give you CROSSFADE Version 2.0 Specs: CPU: Ryzen THREADRIPPER 1920x 12c/24t OC'd to 4.1GHz with a Phanteks Glacier TR4 Waterblock. {RGB cabling came messed up so
  2. Its been a while since I've even been on the forums, but that's because I've ben busy. Completely redid my personal rig and even added some personal watercooling. SPECS: CPU: Core i7 6850K @ 4.2GHz MOBO: ASrock X99 Taichi RAM: Avexir Core 32GB (4X8GB) GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Armour put under a water block PSU: Corsair RM850 80+Gold STORAGE: 2x 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD's, 2x 240GB Corsair FORCE LE SATA SSD's Case: Corsair Air 540 ATX COOLING: 6x Corsair SP120 RGB fans 1x EK DBAY RES MX+D5 Pump/res Combo 1x EKWB 240MM PE Rad
  3. Got a bit of an upgrade recently, went from full on Red team to Blue and green. Got a new case because I was too lazy to be bothered with cable management, along with a shmexy x99 taichi and 6850k. Along with 32GB of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, a custom EK loop for the CPU, a Strix 1060 all powered by a 750 watt power supply. ...but I skipped storage day, only max of 1TB on the HDD
  4. Fractal Design Define S I believe. Will have pics once I de-dust it again.
  5. New phone camera, new gpu, new update. Got myself a new STRIX 1060 card and oh my goodness it's beautiful.
  6. Well damn, that's a mighty fine case. Now I know what to look for when doing another watercooling build.
  7. Wait wait wait... are you planning on stuffing all of those radiators in that small case? Will it even fit?
  8. "So stay tuned for the finale of SCRAPYARD WARS!" "..Next week for Vessel subscribers." #crievrytime #makeitstoplinus #alreadybroke
  9. The build was sponsored by the school I was in at the time as a showpiece for the class. They paid for every part except for the Processor, RAM, the SSD and the HDD in the back. I could have taken some of those parts back, but I wanted to leave something behind for new students to tinker around with.
  10. Have you tried using afterburner to set up a custom curve? That can normally resolve any thermal issues encountered.
  11. Nice! I'll keep my eye out then, tons of collectors out here.
  12. I've always wanted one just to see if I can add servos and make a walking pc just for the heck of it. Where did you find it?
  13. Graphics cards are beginning to fail, one 270x is flexing too much for my liking and the two in my rig are horribly noisy under load with tons of coil whine, even with the fans ramped down in a Fractal Define S I'm still able to hear them. The two R9 270x's haven't aged well at all.. Perhaps a polaris alternative would serve as a good transplant for this pc of mine.
  14. Back again with another customer's build. This one for a good friend of mine. Specs: CPU: AMD FX-6300 Stock clock. CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T4 Air Cooler. Mobo: AsRock 970 Extreme3 R2.0 RAM: 16GB DDR3 Cruicial Ballstix Sport 1600MHz GPU: MSI Radeon R9 380 (Lucky guy got it for 80 bucks from some guy off craigslist for mint condition) PSU: Corsair CX550 or CX650 (Can't entirely remember, there were a lot of issues with the ones I had for it.) Storage: Salvaged 1TB WD Scorpio drive from old laptop. Case: Corsair SPEC-ALPHA. He just
  15. I wasted a good 100$ on a supposedly "factory re-certified" Corsair RM 750. Apparently Corsair's Power supply's don't need any 3.5V outputs at all to pass re-certification. (╯ರ ~ ರ)╯︵ ┻━┻
  16. Well I've gotten bored, so I thought I would try a little something. I will start with two lyrics/lines taken from random songs from the internet, those who guess one correctly also attach lyrics to their reply's, and so the chain goes on. All Lyrics posted must abide by the community standards please. Lyric 1: "..An electronic paradise where humans would not go." Lyric 2: "..With open eyes we still believe in the world.." Good luck and happy hunting.
  17. Back again with some grainy but usable pics for my personal rig! (Damn I need a new camera) Specs: CPU: AMD FX-8320 overclocked, clock varies as I'm steadily pushing it further and further every day. 4.3ghz rock solid now. Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 R5 Mobo 24GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM from Crucial. (2x4G)+(2x8G) Corsair RM 750 PSU (Slightly broken, 3.5V rail deteriorated) GPU(s) Top one is an XFX Radeon R9 270x, bottom is the same of the sapphire brand. I call them Natasha and sasha. CPU is cooled using a custom EK water loop (fun as all hell to build) Loop comp
  18. SO I just booted up speedfan to adjust radiator fans speeds when suddenly, my 3.3V dropped to 2.46V Guess its the PSU then.
  19. Hello Linus Tech Tips Community, I seem to have a dire problem on my hands. I recently had to get rid of my MOBO and PSU to accommodate a new processor I had received along with a new Graphics card. And me being the cheapo techie, decided I'd risk open box parts. The motherboard was an easy problem to solve, it was missing a screw for the mounting tabs. (990FXA-UD3 R5 From Gigabyte, nice and stealthy black looking. :3) But there seemed to be nothing wrong at least with the PSU at the moment of using it. Now I recently upgraded to a water cooling loop I made to test some overclocking, and
  20. Was looking for RX 480 card photos when I came across this one of Sapphire's new NITRO RX 480 (Not my creation, just thought it was funny. )
  21. Hm, perhaps the term Fraternal Twins? I'm the same way with my two R9 270X's.
  22. Glad to see I'm not the only one who uses mismatched cards in SLI/Crossfire. Pretty epic build man.
