I use firefox but even if I still used chromium I wouldn't really care, I don't sync my browsers.

Also I would be surprised if someone didn't just fork it and add their own sync. It may even be doable through an extension, I'm not sure though.

Not sure what punishment could be imposed that would get Twitter’s attention. Many of the big tech companies have shown to be able to shrug off billion dollar fines. In some cases, share price has actually increased. Raising funds isn’t a problem.

Suppose if you were really intent on making an example, asset forfeiture could be imposed. This is often done in the case of property used in commission of a crime. If this were to extend to intellectual and intangible property as well (as server hardware is easily replaced), you pretty much have Twitter dead to rights.

Zodiark1593 reacted to Levent in NVIDIA to reintroduce the RTX 2060 series into the market
€300 for RTX2060 is a really good deal. Color me surprised. Considering you haven't been able to get any card at MSRP for the last 14 months and this card as is sells for €550 in France.

If they take it too far to the point that anything ray-traced gets called RTX, the brand could become a generic trademark.  😉

Zodiark1593 reacted to LAwLz in [Updated #1][Rumour] Intel and NVIDIA had an internal agreement that blocked the development of laptops with AMD Renoir and GeForce RTX 2070 and above
Ah yes, a random polish website publishes a wild conspiracy theory with 0 evidence and conveniently it's one that can neither be proved nor disproved, so any and all discussion about this will be "I believe Nvidia and Intel are evil so therefore this proves my point".
Can't wait to see a bunch of AMD fanboys use this to prove that Nvidia and Intel are evil, and AMD is their friend who need protection.
I like how they have also shut down any argument that can disprove them in the style of a flat-earther.

"Couldn't the reason for the lack of high end Nvidia GPUs on AMD laptops be because of PCIe limitations?"
Nooo! That's just a lie told by Intel! You'd be a fool to believe that! It barely makes a difference in most situations so therefore it is wrong. Also please ignore that Nvidia have traditionally had very strict PCIe requirements, such as SLI not being supported on anything less than PCIe x8 motherboards despite PCIe x4 being enough at the time to get 98% of performance.

"How do you explain the new laptops which do have AMD CPUs and high end Nvidia cards?"
The conspiracy has been broken and brave OEMs are now rising up against the oppressive regim of Intel and Nvidia!

Gotta love how they quote themselves as the source. I should start doing that.

Zodiark1593 reacted to Caroline in NVIDIA quietly announces a GT 1010 that's apparently faster than a GT 1030 DDR4
Came from other topic, to those who say "there's no market for this, an iGPU is better" there *is* a market for cards like the 1010, you might not see lots of them in highly developed places but cards like the 210 and 710 are common in poor countries, comes reasonably cheap considering a high end card or rig costs literal years of work. A low end card doesn't requires aux power and you can pretty much slot it in any mobo that comes with a PCIe slot. The only downside is that apparently the 1010 will be fully digital, no more VGA.
An iGPU is better, yes, but you're talking about a **current gen** iGPU, the UHD630 comes packed with a 700 dollar CPU for God's sake, old onboard outputs can't keep up with today's requirements (even playing a youtube vid) and most of the times upgrading the entire computer is in a word impossible, but adding a card like that can give your old computer a couple more years of life, apparently nvidia knows this and keeps releasing cards, they also know AMD failed to satisfy low end users, the last truly low end cards were the HD5450/6450 more than 10 years ago, the R5/R7 and RX cards were pathetic compared to what nvidia offered in the same price bracket.
I fix computers, most of them don't even have a graphics card and rely on the onboard graphics for everything, yes they're probably painfully slow compared to a brand new PC but adding a 710 or a 1010 usually does the trick and people don't need to sell a kidney to get it.

For most games, isn’t pre-ordering quite redundant anyway, especially with digital copies being a thing? I’d imagine supply of game copies is seldom a problem that one would have to worry about getting ahold of one.

oof. in the netherlands we have bicycle lanes everywhere, all the roads are designed with bicycles in mind and stuff. it's great. at junctions bicycles even get their own lane and traffic lights so we don't go at the same time as the cars.

More than just incentive, it’d be pretty much impossible nowadays, as a) it would be impossible to single out mining , as GPGPU by it’s nature doesn’t allow for it, and b) because game engines rely so heavily on compute even if CUDA/OpenCL were to be stripped out of non Quadro/FirePro cards (which would anger a lot of customers btw), a cryptominer could be made on top of a super basic Vulkan or DX12 engine, with the miner running via Compute Shaders.

The problem is “... Supply and Demand have a big problem,” (+1 for reference). The solutions are; to increase supply, which as AMD found the hard way, carries risk of market saturation, to reduce demand via higher prices, which if scalpers are anything to go by, would necessitate very steep hikes and can alienate people in lower budget segments down the toad, or simply waiting it out. The latter option poses the least risk in regards to potential oversupply, publicity, and keeping some pent up demand once mining dies down.

Offline rendering had used hybrid techniques for quite a long time, as ray tracing was expensive even for movies and animation. As an example, Pixar’s Renderman had only moved to a fully path traced engine in 2016. Before that, the Reyes method was used, with ray tracing being incorporated later on.

Mine is pretty spotless for 9 years, but rather shallow as I only have a couple cards, and a paid car loan. While my cards get regular use for the cash back (buy stuff I need and pay off in full every month), I don’t have a habit of racking up debt. One of my cards actually got a hefty limit increase just yesterday, actually.
