Didn't read the whole thing, but I got to the UPS part, and the Newegg rep wasn't lying. UPS stopped accepting packages from retailers for a while there because their network's capacity was maxed out. That's probably what happened.

But yeah, Newegg sucks. They were bought out a couple of years back and it's been an absolute shitshow ever since. I don't even bother with buying from there anymore.

Oh JFC, mixed rum is maybe half a step above fermented camel piss on the alcoholic beverage scale.

If you end up wanting to try Scotch, I can help point you in the right direction to start. If alcohol just isn't your thing, that's cool, and I admire you for being mature enough to make that call at any age.

Personally, I'd rank being alive a step or two above having a drink.

I hate rum in general. If there's ever a need for me to stop drinking, replacing my cabinet's contents with rum would be an effective way to do it.

FWIW, my "liquor cabinet"/cupboard shelf over the stove contains a half-finished bottle of Dahlwinnie Scotch, an unopened bottle of Maker's Mark and two bottles of a wonderful root beer flavored moonshine called Raymond Fairchild's White Lightning. I love that stuff. Love it. LOOOOOOOOOOOVE it when I just want to drink a glass of cream soda and be hammered by the end.

I was completely dependent on energy drinks for damn near everything in college. My favorite concoction was a 16 oz. beverage made of 8 oz. of Mountain Dew Code Red and 8 oz. of Red Bull. I called it a Code Red Bull and would go through 3-4 of them per day. Then one day my heart did something really weird. It beat once, then didn't, then beat twice in quick succession, then didn't. Apparently irregular heartbeats are bad for you. I swore way off but remained fairly addicted to them on and off. Now, if I have one at all, it's probably a V8 Energy once a week, at most.

That was me for a very long time. It took until my late 20's for me to really develop a taste for alcohol. I'm still that way with coffee. I hate coffee. HATE coffee.

Most people just go to their local baitshop or grocery store to buy fishing/pet feeding crickets. Human consumption is also increasing across the world, and has been popular in Asian countries since time began basically.

There's nothing to "get away with". It's called the free market. Is it fair? Yes. You have as much chance at those cards as resellers do. If retailers implicitly allow them to use bots by way of not blocking or banning them, then bots are fair game, and you're free to use a bot or a script too. And if you buy a card and realize that someone else out there is dumb enough to pay twice what you did for it, you're free to resell it as soon as it arrives. Or before, in a lot of cases, where some dipshit is literally paying hundreds of dollars for first dibs on a card that may or may not ever be handed to them.

So yes, it is sort of win-win for them. Prices north of MSRP will become normal even straight from retailers, which means they're just this side of guaranteed not to lose money on cards purchased at the original MSRP. At some point, inventory will (theoretically) catch up, and their demand will come down. Of course, if that happens, a lot of them would either sell the cards to miners or start mining themselves to recoup value. The only possible legal pitfall would be with the IRS, but you'd have to sell a lot of cards to land on the IRS' radar.

So basically, no, there is no penalty for freely using the free market to make money.

Does the system *natively* (and this is important) support this new CPU?
HP has a nasty habit of whitelisting CPUs in their BIOS, and if your new CPU isn't there, it's not gonna work.

Oh, I'm definitely hanging onto the spare drive. It's an SN750. I've only still got the board in hopes that AMD announces a $225 R5 5600 or a sub-$350 R7 5700X at some point this month. If I haven't heard anything by 1/25 or so, I have to send it back to Amazon or lose the refund. And I know that if I send it back, they'll announce the 5600 the next day. If I don't, they'll just keep dropping overpriced X CPUs.

Even if that board does go back, the extra NVMe stays with me.

Any time you update the bios, it restores the board's defaults (which you should also clear cmos before and after a flash any ways) and you have to set up your raid configuration in bios.

Yes, that's perfectly normal.... on any motherboard.

eBay has a more or less bulletproof returns system that favors buyers almost 100% of the time. You have to admit to damaging the item in an eBay message to have your return request refused, and even then there are multiple other ways to get it back. From a seller's POV, it's bullshit. From yours, it means that the only reasons not to take a flyer on something from eBay are if it's going to take too long to get to you (Chinese GPUs, which you shouldn't be buying anyway) or the price doesn't make sense.
