  1. Hmm the headache sounds really interesting ! Looks really interesting the things you suggest! Makes me think about the different ways to use the LEDs. The LED's we used in this build are these: And We've used a small controller from Aqua computer the Farbwerk. We got it at www.highflow.nl! Here is the link to the product! http://www.highflow.nl/modding/leds/led-rgb/aqua-computer-farbwerk-usb-bluetooth-version-53171.html For Rinzler the key ingredient were the LED's to light up the edges of the plexiglas but its very interesting to experiment a bit with the possibilities! Maybe
  2. Haha thanks Stefan!! That's a very creative comment ! Yes the RGB Lighting! That was something that had to be involved as we used the MSI GODLIKE motherboard, so now I can use te fancy disco mode when I have a party haha ! (always very usefull...?) So here is the next buildlog update, I will go though these quite quickly so you will see a lot of progress this upcoming week ! This is a short video I made of the cutting of the self adhesive foil! A quick test to see if the RGB lights work in real life (not only in my mind.. ) The X99A GODLIKE Gaming motherboard F
  3. Yes ! Rinzler is also my absolute favorite track on the Tron Legacy Album! I had to use that track in the movie otherwise it would not have been right haha! Thanks!
  4. Cool!! Thank you all so much for the kind comments ! Much more 'sexy' coming up !!
  5. Hi My name is Femke Agnes Toele or as you may know me; F.A.T. 27 years old and I have a passion for casemodding. Lately I’ve been working together with my buddy Tenzin Rongen, we are a great team (FAT - Femke And Tenzin? ). Tenzin is 29 years old and a industrial design student at the university of Rotterdam. He can do and make almost anything! We are both gold and silversmiths by profession in the Netherlands and have our own businesses. Through out the years we have collected a great deal of tools and materials to work with. In a big workshop we make our designs come to life. This is

Annnnddddd.... another Update! After the "self-adhesive-foil-adventure" (great book title BTW) Time to fit in the hardware! Aluminium bars to hold the radiator in place, making the thread and than screwing the radiator onto them. The Cooler Master Nepton 240 It was a tight fit with all the cables but in the end everything fits perfectly!! And a very nice package arrived from Avexir! For the Aegis and Atlas ! Now I only need to do the finishing touches to the case and build in the hardware! Next update the final pictures, I've made qui
  8. Thank you very much for that great compliment ! I'm currently working on two other builds, one is the Aegis and the other the Atlas. I still need to start the buildlog for the atlas but the aegis is already online !

Haha Yes loads of cosplay there! I really enjoyed that, a lot of really cool costumes! No the PSU is still Black, I didn't paint it. because of the blau LED lights it looks blue! I will upload more pictures later where you can see it clearly without the LED light ! Thats Pixel my parrotlet! He always with me when I do the modding, sitting on my shoulder and (in his opinion) helping me .. ! haha

After a short break I'm back ! Gamecsom was awesome! It was a crazy busy week (and the week before of course, finishing everything ), but completely worth it!! I was so happy I survived the teenage zombies and..I've made a short 'after' movie! And a few pictures of the Aegis and the Atlas, the other build I'm working on! (more about that one in his own new buildlog..comingsoon) Now, On with the buildlog because I've made a lot of pictures! Ok where were we again.. Applying the self adhesive foil (Pixel was completely obsessed with the plastic tool to straighten out the f

Thanks guys ! So, another quick update, after the Gamescom stress officially has started to kick in I took the Bitfenix Spectre PRO Fans out of there frame and used a file to round all the edges, so the fans will fit nicely into the wooden frame. Below you can see the wooden frames for the fans they will be places on both sides next to the MB. Ofcourse Pixel has to check if it is done correctly.. (maybe there are any sunflower seeds there, you never know...) This is a rough idea of what it will look like (you just need some imagination ) Small aluminium brac

Dankjewel ! We don't want to give in on the usability of the case so we will be using the original panels, but modify them of course . Thanks ! It gets better !

Because today I'm really in the 'Update'-mood.. Yes, another Update ! In the last post I didn't really mention the motherboard we are going to use. So this is the one, it was in the price package for Polar (lucky me ). Cut out wooden panels with a lasercutter to fit in- & outside the case. The great thing about the Spectre PRO fans is the two-part frame. You can take them apart easily. The fans will then be mounted inside the panels. It almost look like speakers, don't you think? Using a file to give an edge to the wooden panel so it will fit together nicely.

Annndd another project ! Bitfenix asked us to build 2 rigs for GamesCom 2015 in Cologne Germany. Ofcourse we're super excited! This is the first buildlog the other one ... is a secret (for now) We've chosen to use the Funky Blue Aegis with a display on the frontside. The deadline is the 5th of august so we don't have much time left for two complete systems ! So lets start !! First a video we've made to show you what we are planning on doing! The first packages to arrive, Thank you very much Richard!! The first thing we are doing is flipping the case 90 degrees, and s

    Polar by FAT

Simple answer, because everybody else in the contest chose a 'green' theme build and I really like blue  Ofcourse I love to give you some hints ! 1. 5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 2. August 3. Cologne... 4. short amount of time... I think that must be enough and one picture to complete it

    Polar by FAT

Haha thanks ! I'm glad that you like it, I was afraid I was going to disappoint you with this build! Thank you ! Great! Ofcourse I have something else planned.. !! That is why I posted this buildlog so quickly, so I can start a new one maybe.. next week ! Thanks! We had some basic CAD software at school, this particular render of the haf stacker was made by someone else, we only modified it to our design ! Yes, the sand thing was quite easy and came out really well! Happy you like it as well !

    Polar by FAT

Yes you are right! Because it is an ECO build, we didn't want to use a GPU because of the high power usage. And to highlight the motherboard more Haha, does is sound like that?!

    Polar by FAT

There are no cables to sleeve ! The 3D printed cable caps will lead all of the cables under the motherboard so you will not see any cables. Without the cables the motherboard looks very clean and simple. Hope you like the result! So, I've posted this buildlog really quickly, because there is more stuff coming up! This is already the final post on Polar! Hope you like the result! I made a clip of the process of building Polar, enjoy ! Hope you liked it, let me know what you think about the build !

    Polar by FAT

Thanks! I will add some extra colour to the motherboard in the end to make it more Polar-style ! Thanks Next up is making all of the pieces fit together. This took the most time and is a very tedious proces since there are so many parts to fit together! A lot of sand went into it that we had to filter to get a nice even finish. Here are the first pieces coming together, it's looking good! That was one side, now the other side! Drilling holes to fit the motherboard. We want a ver

Thanks for the nice comments guys! ANNNDDD an other update ! Usually I cut out everything by hand but with these tiny details the lasercutter is perfect! Pixel tests every piece, cutting up the front and top panels so they fit the slimmed down case. First masking it with tape and then cutting them by hand and check if they fit. putting it back together Then to give the wooden panels a cool finish a made a test piece using black spray paint and real sahara sand from Egypt! Checking if everything fits before painting. Then first a prime

Time for another update ! We used a lasercutter to cut out the side panels out of wood. Below you can see a short clip about the cutting! Time to put together the frame again with aluminium extrusion profile and rivets! The laser cut wooden side panels are glued together in the right angle. And here you can actually see how much has been cut out. A big difference! So here is where the experiment begins... To melt the plexiglas into the form we had to heat it in the oven (without

    Polar by FAT

Thanks for the nice comments ! I will be posting the complete buildlog during this week so it will be updated quickly ! Thanks! Yes it is a good looking MoBo! Pixel is a parrotlet, so he should be really intellegent   Yes, the case in general is very big ! The case was sponsored bij Coolermaster for this contest and it had to be recognizable as a HAF Stacker 935 in the final design. All the contestants had to use both parts of the case, so it will be big ! Hope you like the outcome!

Hi My name is Femke Agnes Toele a.k.a. FAT. You might know my work from 'Little Scratch' from ECS Modmen Contest and 'Flux' from the Bit-Tech Intel NUC contest of this year. I have build 'Polar" together with Tenzin who is an Industrial Design student in Rotterdam. Initially 'Polar' was build for the Hardware.info Masters of Modding competition. Wich we won! And now it has been selected for the MSI PRO MOD Final round. If you like it you can cast your vote on the MSI Global Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/MSIHQFANCLUB?fref=ts First the design!
