yeahhh, a DW5600 is something I'm looking to pick up at some point. I'll buy a beat up one for cheap, and do the stainless steel mod on it.

I saw that one, was tempted, but I want more pikachu on the dial if I'm buying a pokemon watch.

I got the RAF gravitymaster with the same module recently. They tick pretty loudly, but they do everything you expect a GShock to do very well. The carbon fiber body is pretty nice too. Just shop around, you can get these starting at less than £220 (not the RAF, but the standard variants).

I seem to remember GameMax PSUs were pretty dodgy. I seem to remember them being over-rated by 50-100w on the label.

But hey, they're a new manufacturer, so they may have improved. Their budget cases certainly aren't the worst on the market.

Wow we have an actual watchmaker on here, that's pretty fucking cool. That's from a pocket watch, right? From before Hamillton became Swiss.

Honestly, I don't really have a grail watch, since I don't really tend to gravitate that much to luxury stuff (like very expensive watches, supercars, etc.), but I would very much like to own a Omega Speedmaster Tintin one day.

For those who don't know, this a decently rare (around 2000 units) speedmaster, that was the product of a botched colab between Omega and the people behind "The Adventures of Tintin" in the mid 2010s. These dials painted in a pattern inspired by Tintin's rocket were made, but before special casebacks could be made, the colab was called off. So Omega stuck the dials they made into standard moonwatch cases and flogged them to whoever wanted them. They go for around £9k-11k currently, so they're not super unattainable, maybe one of these days I'll treat myself to one.

I put very little effort into sorting my desktop tbh. I have a folder with thousands of wallpapers that I've acumilated over the years, and windows just shuffles through them. Icons just go wherever.

If you're a fan of homages, you should check out what the small brands on Aliexpress have to offer. Plenty of good quality homages to be had on there. You have Pagani Design, Phylida, Corgeut, Steeldive, etc. at the cheaper end (£40-£100), and Cronos, San Martin, etc. at the higher end (£150-£300).

Though there are brands that make trash too, so it's a good idea to look at reviews (or ask me).

Speaking of homage watches, I have both a Seiko Cocktail time, and a Pagani Cocktail time.

When you look at these side by side, you notice how much of a bargain the Pagani is, because it's really not that bad for £45/$63. Sure, it's not as nicely finished as the Seiko, but nothing about the finishing (or anything else about the watch for that matter) actually makes me unhappy that I bought the watch. I actually enjoy it when I wear the Pagani, despite owning the original.

Right, so what's on my wrist today?
I have my red honeycomb dial Geckota G-01 on today. A nice vintage watch with strong lume, that you can grab and go thanks to the second-hand-less Ronda quartz inside. Cat approved of course.
