Numbers are way off this is what I get on the calculator.  Also its bad form to not tweak the power settings down for efficiency.  I only have my 3080 at 59% power target and its getting nearly the full potential.  Factoring in what I sold the 2080 for (which also was purchased through mining mostly) it took less than 3 weeks to have a free 3080 since I got it in October at retail.

Human impact on global warming is much less than they lead people to believe.  There are galactic cycles that are way out of "observable" parameters.

Still I provide more power than I use which has its other benefits.  They probably would have cut power last week if I didn't...

The latest I read is this only hurts ETH mining performance there are other algorithms that can still make $7/day.  Waste of time.  Too much money to be made that will be thrown at anything Nvidia comes up with.

I'm going to assume the same cease and desist laws apply.  FYI debt collection agencies are 3rd party you have 0 obligation to them.  Your contract is with the originating company regardless of whether they sell it off or not.

The US its very easy to get hurt and end up with someone wanting $100k+ from you...
Being said most people don't know their rights.  There are federal cases that have determined "fair value" for services if you don't have insurance they may be charging 1000% on top of what is considered "fair value".  I had 2 instances where they refused to negotiate and I made it go away once they sold it off to a debt collector.  Also a few times I was forced onto the toll road (I avoid these) and got a bill in the mail.  I refuse to pay a toll for roads likely built buy taxes and sold off to a Chinese company.

EDIT: There are medical billing codes and a database to lookup what fair value is.  Also if your in the hospital.  They tend to farm out 3rd party companies that aren't listed on your insurance to make a higher profit...  The hospital and medical system in the US is corrupt as you can get.

The 16GB in consoles is shared between CPU and GPU and Xbox has a 10GB target on the GPU side you can 100% match the same quality settings as Xbox at 4k.  Anything additional like the texture pack they mentioned yes that is correct however it may work fine at 1440p.

Nothing like seeing 40fps in Watchdogs Legion on a 3080 just a few weeks after getting it... (not a vram issue).

"SLC Like" I left off a word.  Essentially just a portion that uses 1bit per cell the minimum is 6GB and maximum is 114GB on the 980PRO.  Which is a considerable amount over the 970 evo plus.

I can't find it but GN did an analysis video that showed the only game that really suffered with a huge performance hit at 4k on 8GB was nightmare in Doom Eternal and "ultra" cleared it right up.  I believe flight sim was also mentioned but I'm not sure if anything satisfies it.

Its not though there has been 1-2 games with in game settings (not mods) that have a huge performance drop for 8GB cards at 4K let alone 10GB at 1440p.

Yes 10GB is fine there is barely anything that pushes 8GB is what I said.  *need* vs allocation.

TBH I tried that then just went full SSD.  I'm currently at 5TB of NVME storage I got a hot swap PCIe bay so the 3rd can use another 2TB drive when needed (7TB).  And a storage case so I can add 3 more if needed.

How exactly do they cancel it if they never were going to do it anyway?  AFAIK it was from AIB partners only and if their contract says they can release a 20GB card Nvidia can't cancel it for them...

Likely a lot was planned though and now they are already moving on to a refresh and dumping the 8nm cards...

ewitte got a reaction from BTGbullseye in RTX 30 series waste of money for 1080p gaming?
CPU when your GPU limited doesn't matter.  I just provided a GPU limited example.  Average fps at 1080p for the 2070S vs 3070 shows a 30% gain.  If its the same price why not?  The amount of titles being GPU limited is just going to go up.  If you want to save wait for availability to go up you can get a 2080 for less than 350 most likely.  For someone asking about a 3080/2080TI its a fine recommendation.  Had he been asking about a 2060 I would have had a different recommendation.

ewitte got a reaction from BTGbullseye in RTX 30 series waste of money for 1080p gaming?
There are always games and settings that push ANY card you have.  Even at 3440x1440 I'd rater not run ray tracing without DLSS it can drop me into the 50s-60s.  Also another title I'm running doesn't even have ray tracing and with the ultra settings I'm frequently running in the lower 70s.  Some people prefer higher fps so a 3070 at 1080p may be able to stay closer to 100fps.  Its absolutely not overkill.
