Axeonelite got a reaction from SpiderMan in Should i repaste my RTX 3080 Suprim X for better temps & performance?
I agree with @CommanderAlexbut I will say if you do end up repasting go big or go home with some liquid metal! My Razer Blade 15 went down 20 Degrees Celsius without any other updates.

Axeonelite got a reaction from Relentless_Seeker in My sketchy power supply died. How do i know that it has affected my other components in my rig?
Depends. Did it give any signs of malfunctioning before it died out? If it was a lightning storm or something else that can affect your components regardless of the quality of your components thats one thing. But if you've installed a new power supply and it works fine then you probably have nothing to worry about. If it had shorted any parts or ruined them due to a surge you would've already seen the affects.
If you have done any benchmarking previously you could always re-benchmark it and compare results.

Axeonelite reacted to Senzelian in Air vs Liquid question
Depends on how custom the loop is.
Can a aircooler beat a custom loop with a 240mm radiator? Yeah.
Can a aircooler beat a custom loop with a 360mm radiator? Possibly.
Can a aircooler beat a custom loop with a 360mm and a 240mm radiator? Eh... No.
Edit:
But when it comes to price/performace: Screw watercooling!

Axeonelite reacted to Senzelian in I Need So Extra Opinions.
Your motherboard might have an 8-pin and a 4-pin connector, but the ATX standard only requires a 4-pin.
This is also the reason for the 8-pin CPU power connector being split into two 4-pins.
Simply plug in the 8-pin and it will be fine.
-
Axeonelite reacted to xdeathshot20 in I Need So Extra Opinions.
you will be fine with just the 8 pin. The extra 4 pin is mostly required if doing high overclocking with like the 3900x or even the 3950x. Even if you did overclock your 3600 you would still be fine with the single 8 pin

so you don't have a ssd?
Then that is norml, windows 10 is very slow on a hard drive, and there isn't much you can do.

"The Asus PRIME X570-P ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Rosewill 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it."
Direcltly from your PC Part Picker list compatibility errors. Is this an issue? Is your ram in your bios set to the proper speed? Are you running in the proper dual channel setup with your ram? If your video card in the proper 16x PCI-e slot?

Axeonelite got a reaction from kelvinhall05 in Windows 8 free upgrade from windows vista?
XD well is modern trash better than vintage trash? I'd like to think so, but it Depends who the collector is I guess. Or the junkyard I should say.
**EDIT** This comment applys only to the OS discussion at hand I am a bit fan of vintage hardware and the preservation of such.
-
Axeonelite got a reaction from kelvinhall05 in Windows 8 free upgrade from windows vista?
XD While a bit harsh I do agree. If a system is that old to be natively running that version of windows you may need to consider something lighter from your OS. Windows 8 was kind of a disaster so I would either go to 10 or if the hardware can't support it find something else.

Axeonelite reacted to kelvinhall05 in Windows 8 free upgrade from windows vista?
"Guys how do I upgrade from trash to trash??//?/??/"
Just clean install Windows 10 from a USB. What system is this? Something older would benefit from a light Linux distro.

Axeonelite got a reaction from Cheebird in Razer Core X with new graphics card or entirely new rig
If you can go without the laptop for a bit I'd sell it and then use that into your new total and build a whole new rig. BUT That is up to you. I just recently brought a 2019 Blade 15 Advanced with the 2070 Max-Q and i7-9750h. I spent $1600 on it and could have gotten a damn good desktop for that price, but for me I have just recently moved into an area with no internet. So in order to do work and to download games, I need to travel. And yes I could've got a laptop or a dekstop with desktop grade parts and way better performance with the same specs for cheaper, but I didn't want a 17inch brick that weighs 10 lbs. and I required portability.
I payed for the Razer and Thin laptop Tax in order to fit my use case. Sure it ain't as powerful as I would like. But it's easy and works. So choose what's important to you and go with that.

Axeonelite reacted to Benji in Stock build making CPU voltage above safe limits?
Well, AMDs CPUs are built closely to their maximum capacity, so overclocking them does not make much sense in my opinion. Are you satisfied with the stock performance? Don't bother overclocking, then. And if it is using entirely stock BIOS settings, it is behaving according to what AMD intended. So nothing to worry about the stock voltage going high on bursty loads occasionally.
-
Axeonelite got a reaction from Benji in Stock build making CPU voltage above safe limits?
Never overclock unless you have a VERY specific reason to. If you just NEED that little bit more performance out of your hardware then go for it. But for most people it's not worth it to risk the hardware for a minimum return.
and especially with the risk associated with your processor like you mentioned.
-
Axeonelite reacted to AmyTheBun in Stock build making CPU voltage above safe limits?
okay then I'll leave it at stock!
and considering that the 1.4v burst is normal I won't touch that either

That's what I thought, thanks. It's a shame, if I could upgrade this one I would as I really like it, but I guess that's the price you pay for the slimline style etc.

Axeonelite got a reaction from Lurick in No Option to ENABLE/DISABLE SLI?
You are correct. OP please check reviews. I hope you had that board and one card before you bought the other and didn't buy it with the intention of doing sli. multiple reviews state there is no SLI support and I could not find any official documentation stating such either. There is not enough PCI lanes as Lurick mentioned. Most budget gear will not support high end features such as SLI especially in a age where Nvidia themselves aren't giving it much support outside of enterprise situations.
