I didn't see it; would you mind helping clarify this for me? I'm a bit confused, as his title still says "Member".

Looking on the optimistic side, he has been inactive for long periods of time to focus on other things or simply to take a break. Hopefully he's just taking a break and will be back later.

Mmm, server tech. 🤤 Are those SSDs proprietary or do they use a standard SAS/SATA connector?

SAS but its only 100/200gb drives just 4 of them on an raid/HBA card F40 can be had for around 40-50$ while F80 are 60-80$

there are some places that sell used SAS SSDs for 20$ for 200gb or 45$ for 400gb

  4. hello

The way I would go looking for tech that people feel is obsolete is figure out a way to haunt the donation and trash places.  See if you can get some sort of wanted poster up at goodwill or something and hit up the few remaining freegeek outlets.  Also computer recyclers.  It’s something that not a lot of people specifically want, so it may get crushed.  If someone knows you want it you could possibly get it for cheap plus shipping.

  6. Hey All,

Was going to do a build as a 'hobby' endeavor.  Something I have not done in quite awhile.    I am not looking for anything fancy or pretty and could not case less about RGB.  I just want to build a solid 2nd tier system that will be good for a while.  Here is my list of stuff:

    NZXT H510 - CA-H510B-B1 - Compact ATX Mid-Tower PC Gaming Case

Corsair RM Series, RM650, 650 Watt, 80+ Gold Certified, Fully Modular Power Supply

Asus AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) ATX Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core, 16-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler

MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDRR6 192-bit HDMI/DP Ray Tracing Turing Architecture VR Ready Graphics Card (RTX 2060 GAMING Z 6G)

    Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 AMD Optimized Memory

    Samsung (MZ-V7E500BW) 970 EVO SSD 500GB - M.2 NVMe

Anyone have any constructive thoughts??  i.e. will all this work together; better choices for more bang for the buck???  Thanks All.

  7. please continue writing in your blog.

    I liked it.

    thanks
