Avcn42 got a reaction from RAS_3885 in GPU fan speeds faster after flashing bios
Thanks for the help! I'm not sure if there's any difference between the two models fans, but I do think they're indeed the same. Maybe it was supposed to ramp up to 3000 rpm, other eagle owners could tell how theirs run with the stock bios. I'm not particularly worried about the lifespan of the fans since I doubt that would become an issue any time soon at all, I'm only worried if they're being pushed beyond what they're rated for, since that could potentially cause premature failure. I plan on keeping them at full speed since the memory reaches 100C at lower rpms. That is my primary concern.

no it's not. I'd say the biggest problem is the mediocre gameplay and large but a bit lifelessgameworld.

My 3080 also isn't a particularly good overclocker. Well, actually it does clock fine, the problem is the cooler isn't capable of keeping up with the clocks and voltage. Again, like you, my choice was constrained by what was available at the time. However, I was able to push the clocks a bit further (maybe 70-80MHz on the core) by following this guide: https://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/nvidia_rtx_3080_oc_guide/ Perhaps you could give it a go and se if it will work out for you.

Just going to quote myself from 2 years ago:
On top of that, he is (or at least used to be) extremely ignorant when it came to computers. I cringed so hard when he interviewed that person from AMD about Zen, and he didn't even know what a die shrink was or how using smaller transistors affected power consumption/heat/performance.
I remember feeling bad for the AMD employee because you could tell he thought Elric's questions were idiotic.

It's a shame that he is depressed and wants to kill himself, not saying anything about that, but I don't get how people can like him.

Edit: Seems like he hasn't changed during these past 2 years either. I looked him up on Twitter and wouldn't you know it, here is a tweet from earlier this month where he tells people he "hope they die a horrible death" because his package got lost in the mail.

Avcn42 reacted to astrosheen in Average vs peak temperatures while gaming
The reason there is a difference in those temperatures is the GPU. The GPU will be dumping a lot of hot air into your case which I'm guessing is sent out the top through the h115i heating it up a bit on the way. They are both important in their own way but I would care more about the 66C as if that rises towards 80 then you could be heading towards 90 under cpu and gpu load. Overall those temperatures are perfect and to be expected and completely safe so no worries really

Temperature spikes have been increased since Intel stopped soldering the IHS to the CPU. The temperature spikes are due to how fast the CPU's run and the rapid changing in the CPU voltage and utilisation and where that utilisation is occurring. Some parts of the CPU produce more heat than others.

    Avcn42 got a reaction from jasonvp in 2160p 60hz vs 1440p 144hz gsync
Not at all. I have to run some resolution scaling (135%) on Battlefield 1 at ultra 1440p just so the game doesnt go above the G sync limit which is 144Hz, that's how stupid powerful it is.
I just upgraded from a 1080p 60 Hz screen to a 1440p 144Hz G sync one, and G sync is far from a waste of money. I can actually see the frames being displayed, no tearing, no v sync input lag, feels great, I would never ever go back. Free sync does the same for cheaper though.
