  1. Anyone have thoughts on a living room PC? I already have a Gtx 950. I'd use it for light gaming (Forza 7 low settings) and netflix/youtube/floatplane. $450-$500 is about the max I'd want to spend. Would an Xbox one s or x make more sense for under $500?
  2. You are very right about how far it has come. Before you would have 3 people doing everything, now it is mostly a computer doing the actual flying. Yeah, on the subject of in-flight entertainment, there wasn't much tech until the 70's and 80's. They even had a desk-sized Pong computer games in the lounges. And at that same time, they were developing automatic landing systems that are still in use today.
  3. Sorry if I sounded offended, No problem!
  4. Although the autopilot does do a lot of the flying (actually controlling the plane), the pilots do pretty much all the navigating and decision making. When people hear "Autopilot", they think it's a computer pilot that makes all the flight decisions, but the pilot is always "one step ahead of the plane".
  5. Any thoughts on an aviation video? Maybe the evolution of tech in the cockpit? (Also, I wasn't sure if this should be in off topic. If so, I'll delete and repost.)
  6. Yeah, power estimation is at 304 watts, I think a 550w power supply should be fine.
  7. From what I understand, the Z series supports full overclocking to go with unlocked processors. You aren't getting a lot for the Z series unless you have a K chip that is unlocked. You'd probably be better off putting that extra money into CPU, GPU, ram, or storage.
  8. Although If you want 80+ gold efficiency, the one you chose looks like a good deal.
  9. It looks like you have 250 watts of headroom with what you have right now, that's good. If you don't mind some extra cables to hide, a semi-modular PSU would save some money to invest in a slightly better graphics card or something else.
  10. Also, personally I'd spring an extra $20 for a 240gb ssd, It's really nice if you have enough space for games on it
  11. I'd go for at least 7th gen i5 if the 8th gen is too hard to get right now. A little performance improvement for about the same price.
  12. Well, they could try to make it good, I don't see an RGB light strip taped onto the cooler working that well
  13. Someone should make the Intel stock cooler RGB, LTT could even make it a video!
  14. Everyone should boot from an SSD because HDD's are so slow. SSD's can also load games incredibly fast and you are playing whatever you want much sooner than before.

  16. I'm in the same boat, only I'm saving up. I find that mowing the lawn for your parents and doing odd jobs for them really adds up. I've earned $200!
