    it's roughly the same as a 3060ti and definitely slower than a 3070, so u sold a 3060ti for 900 and bought a 3060ti without dlss for 1k

Hold on, you have Game Mode enabled, isn't that supposed to disable one of your CCD's? that's why you're getting half the cores

.Apex. reacted to Krosis in How do I tell if my AIO is working properly?
I completely agree. I was just running Prime 95 to get the unrealistic max to test my thermal headroom. Cinebench is max 65, which is obviously quite good.

I am already using Arctic MX-4, so the only upgrade would be to go liquid metal.

I think I am just going to stop worrying about this, and let my AIO do its job.

    Thanks for your input!

.Apex. got a reaction from MaDoG2021 in Moving from 9800X to 5800X - worth it ?
It would not be a significant upgrade CPU wise especially not for the amount of money you're going to pay to fully transition to an AMD CPU, I suggest you wait for the next Ryzen CPU and buy an RTX 3080 instead as an upgrade if you can get your hands on it.

Between the 9800X and 5800X there's a 25% Singlecore improvement which would be significant if you were to raise the amount of cores, but extra cores in your case wouldn't affect gaming performance, and you could lower that gap even further if you were to overclock the 9800X which would put it in the range of 10-15%.

Here is how I solved it. I just connected to the GPU fans to the fan hub. (I just ordered corsair commander pro right now so hopefully, I can put them on a fan curve)
I tried installing gigabyte software (as you predicted, it had a feature that resembled a fan stop functionality) but it interfered with the afterburner pretty badly. Plus, the software was horrible for undervolting. My case fans are currently on 20%~30% and the temps are pretty good (Full load 72 C.). Thanks for the help again.

50-60C is usually the range for the "FanStop" feature which turns off the fans below the threshold and turn them on when above, so that might be interfering with your software, usually there is a BIOS switch on the board that puts the card in "high-performance" mode and disables FanStop

But yeah this is more likely a software issue not properly taking control of the card rather than a hardware one

.Apex. got a reaction from Bombastinator in An eBay seller has sold an engineering sample Ryzen 3 5300G, this may be one of the best Budget APUs for budget gamers?
It's not performing like a Zen 3 architecture would according to the benchmarks in this video, so I'm a little confused if it's confirmed whether the 5300G would be Zen 3 or if that video is fake, it's only around ~1% faster than a 3300X in Cinebench when it should be at least +10% faster, the numbers are not making sense

The 3300X has an all-core turbo of ~4.2Ghz and it looks like the 5300G is hitting 4.1Ghz all-core

.Apex. got a reaction from Wyzzy Moon in Why is youtube corrupting old Videos (like the WAN archive)
I've watched it more closely and I think it's due to the compression algorithm not recognizing any easily determined objects to compress so that's why the Wanshow intro remained intact, if you look at their faces the artifacts seem to follow their facial expressions pretty accurately which is unusual for a supposedly "random corruption", so they must be using AI to detect backgrounds and faces to squeeze out every last byte and they must have used the wrong compression algorithm settings or some sorts

.Apex. got a reaction from YaBoiHuni in Continue to Upgrade 2011-v3 Socket or Upgrade to Zen 3
I've looked over a few benchmarks on the 5960X and it seems to be more similar to a Ryzen 3600X which is much slower than a Ryzen 5600X, though at 150$ for the 5960X it's still tough to beat the price, it's up to you to determine if you're okay with the power efficiency fiasco

.Apex. got a reaction from YaBoiHuni in Continue to Upgrade 2011-v3 Socket or Upgrade to Zen 3
Your CPU shouldn't bottleneck too badly, I don't think it's necessary to rush an upgrade until you test it out yourself after you've bought the graphics card and determine if you do need a CPU upgrade, and you can easily check bottlenecks by looking at GPU usage

Otherwise it depends on how much you can find a 5960X or a 6950X on the used market, if the price covers an entire upgrade to Zen 3 then it's probably not worth it to go with an old generation especially for power efficiency, the Ryzen 5900X would be much more power efficient and much faster overall, you'd want to compare the 5960X more with the Ryzen 5600X though as that would be more inline with its performance tier.

This my friend, is coil whine, you can't really fix it. My laptop had it for years and so does my PS4 and my router. The best thing you can do is ignore it. If you can't do that do what car guys do when their car has an issue and turn up the music

Hmm I wouldn't count on it achieving lower than 400 but you could try, though low 400s is possible

as for tRFC I think where it's at currently is "okay", you could try to lower it to less than 450 with increments of 10 and see if any of those values boots, 450/440/430/etc

as I remember Samsung E-Die performs similarly to Hynix CJR so that could be the case, but even a garbage tier B-Die does better than this at low frequency

Then it is not B-Die from what I can tell, try using Thaiphoon Burner to confirm what the chip is.

@.Apex. @AndreiArgeanu  UPDATE : Found the culprit why the VCore of the Mobo is dropping that low - i had an AMD card and changed my PSU with a Cooler Master one but when the PC was OFF there was a sound coming from the case like - bzzzzz - thats why i searched in the net and found the C-States then i remembered that i changed something but now when i sold the AMD card ( cuz of bad drivers and crashes ) and returned the "broken" PSU i forgot to reset the C-State and thats why i think the VCore was dropping that low ! Thanks again for everyone that tried to help me ! Appreciate it !

EDIT 2 : Now its dropping to 0.976 and stays there...also last night i noticed that ALL OF MY CORES are sleeping when idle guess everything was cuz of that C-State thingy 😄
