  1. Where I live (Ontario Canada), the RX 5700 XT is on par or in some cases cheaper than an RTX 2060 Super. I am aware the 5700XT out performs the RTX 2060 Super in games, however, AMDs driver issues are making me lean towards green side. The games I currently play include: LoL, CS GO, Valorant, OW, BF4/V, Division 2, CODMW. All at 1440p 75hz (although that may change to 1080p 144hz in the future) Programs I also use: Solidworks (I'm an engineering student), Adobe Premiere/Davinci Resolve, Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop (photo and video editing are merely a hobby however I can apprec
  2. Fair..lol Should I also wait for Zen 2?
  3. What about a GTX 1070? There's one on newegg right now for ~$450 https://www.newegg.ca/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1070-gv-n1070wf3-8gd/p/N82E16814932146?Description=gtx 1070&cm_re=gtx_1070-_-14-932-146-_-Product

  5. just the tower but I really don't want to spend that much if possible
  6. I'm an engineering student and my current laptop can't really run any of the even basic models in NX and Solidworks. I will be doing nodal analysis in the future along with more complex assemblies and parts so I'm planning on building a new computer. I'm hoping this would last me a very long time; something I can use when I'm well versed as a full time engineer. Originally I was going to pick up a new laptop with an eGPU, but it turned out to be way too pricey so I'd rather just build a new PC and do work from home. My budget for the build is no more than $2000 CAD, I current
  7. Hello all, So I'm planning on buying my first ANC cans and just still deciding between the QC35 IIs and the Sony MX3s. Both are great options I'm well aware and I'm sure I'll be happy with both. However, that is not the point of this thread. I am wondering if I should just buy one right now, or wait a bit until either Bose comes out with QC35 IIIs or Sony brings out a refresh. I'm not sure if either companies are planning to or not, which is why I'm making this thread. Just as some background in case anyone wants to guide me in a completely different direction: I'm coming from
  8. Yeah the port has a 5 pin slot on the far right, so it should fit an NVMe drive. I'm just worried it wont support the speed.
  9. I can't seem to find any information online if it can or not. I have: Acer Swift 3 SF314-51-36NK I took it apart and the port looks like it can fit an M.2 NVMe drive no problem. However, I'm not sure if it actually supports it.
  10. I'm running games such as Fornite, Overwatch, LoL, etc. at 1080p.
  11. Why no performance upgrade? You think my CPU will bottle neck it?
  12. Here my current set up: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Stock AMD CPU Cooler Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3 1x generic 2GB stick of ram 1x Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600 HIS Radeon HD 7790 2GB Coolermaster RS-650 PCAR-E3 650W I'm looking at used GTX 960s and I think I found one. It's a Gigabyte Windforce GTX 960 2gb. Before I jump the gun...Would there be any reason it wouldn't work with my system? My PSU has enough connectors, so that's out of the question.
  13. Any alternatives to the PSU I chose? Also the used market isn't very good where I am.
  14. After having my current PC for almost 6 years now, I think it's time to upgrade. I'm calling this rendition Prototype 1 because it may change and I don't plan on actually buying anything for awhile. Budget and Location MAX $1500 CAD with tax and shipping (would like to stay under though). I live in Ontario, Canada and everything I'll be buying will be using CAD. Don't even mention buying parts across the border. Aim I'll be doing pretty much everything on here. Light gaming (I don't play any AAA games; only eSports titles i.e. LoL, OW, Fortnite), streaming, recording
  15. Also...Am I the only one who experiences problems with the thermal paste AMD provides on their coolers? I've ripped out the CPU out of its socket countless times trying to remove the cooler. This has happened with my old 1055t and now this.
