If it requires physically swapping the individual flash chips then it's not really "upgradeable".

I could see how clicking a video and immediately looking at the like/dislike ratio to determine if you should watch it would be the actual driving force behind this.

They can increase the amount of time people watch videos by decreasing the information they have going into them. Just get people to the first ad break before they know how much the video sucks. Thats probably their real goal here

It sounds like you're talking about a 'BIOS Update'. I'll smoke what you're smoking to translate that to 'Chocolate Chipset' lmao.

No, updating the BIOS won't brick anything. Yes, sometimes it is necessary because BIOS updates often add support for newer CPUs released after the motherboard, when the board doesn't get a BIOS update at the factory.

Aereldor got a reaction from Hymenopus_Coronatus in Which motherboard to buy Z490 or B550?
None of this makes a difference. If you're buying the Intel CPU, get the Intel motherboard. If you're buying the AMD CPU, get the AMD motherboard.

    You can't put a 10700 in a B550 or a 3700x in a z490.

Aereldor reacted to illegalwater in First professional review of Intel's Rocket Lake (11700K) is out.. and it's a disaster
Performance gains range from mediocre to non-existent, and in the worst cases it's actually slower than Skylake, overall it's still slower vs the 5800X despite consuming significantly more power.
Interestingly it also has higher core-to-core latency and a worse performing L3 cache compared to Skylake.
It's impressively bad, I'm at a loss for words.

The M1 GPU is surprisingly badass, plays Witcher 3 1080p high. But you have to use crossover and it's a pain in the ass, also no drivers.

@dollar62 check for different variants of the G15, the lower end ones will be cheaper.

Aereldor got a reaction from Ballad_of_Berets in New to pc world. Want to buy pc 2,300$ budget
How much does a Corsair A7200 cost? That's one of the better prebuilds, the PC is only about 15% more than the cost of all its components, and that's assuming MSRP, not today's inflated bitcoin prices. I believe it's just under $2000 USD for a Ryzen 5600x, RTX 3070, and all around great parts.

F means it has no iGPU, just like the ryzens. The 10400f has more threads, the Ryzen 5 3500 is a fuckton cheaper (it's only available in parts of asia), and it has a higher all-core boost and better single thread performance.

It can also be overclocked, and on any motherboard, unlike the 10400F

If you care about it being ultra portable and you don't play games, get the slim. But if you're going to game at all, the laptop with the discrete GPU will serve you way better.

That said, I think this last-gen LG Gram is a better deal in that case. It's not super fast, but it's one of the thinnest, lightest, most portable laptops out there, and it comes with a massive 72Wh battery, rated up to 18.5 hours of battery life. These laptops also always have amazing displays, and I can tell you from personal experience, you're gonna watch a good deal of Netflix in college haha.

Those are normal temperatures for a 3600 and a stock cooler. You're going to benefit more from a new cooler than a new case. The Hyper 212 is okay. My personal pick at $30-40ish is the Arctic 34 Duo

The best cheap case for airflow has to be the Lian Li Lancool 215, but they're very popular, so difficult to find at their MSRP of $60. Try to find one, it comes with two really nice 200mm fans... Airflow for days. If you live in a dusty area though, don't prioritize airflow, your case will clog up in mere days.

+1 I kinda dig the wood thing
-1 removed all the portability from the laptop
-1 that power supply looks unbelievably sketchy, and you're using what looks like 3 molex cables to power the GPU? Dangerous
    -1 cables are a mess

could use a fan or two blowing towards the laptop's heatsink so you don't burn that CPU to a crisp.

Okay, why does this seem genuine? Everything about it looks fake. There's no model number. The description says 'series: for gaming'. It also says-

Display Ratio 16:9, Aspect Ratio 4:3... Claims to have a built-in camera, but I can't see one or connectivity for one anywhere.

There are two different selection options - screen size says '24' and '27' inch, but model number says '22, 24, 19.5, and 27'. So what would they ship you if you pick 27" screen size and 19" for model number?

Also, Linus isn't going to do an entire video just so one of his subsscribers knows which monitor to buy. If you're that sold on it, buy it and see what you get - these chinese sites like Alibaba and Wish are a lottery.

Keep in mind that your profit will also depend on where you live and your electricity bill (different levels of power usage for household get different charges per kilowatt in most places), you won't be able to use your GPU while it's mining so it won't be a 24 hour situation, and it will shorten the life of your GPU.

Aereldor got a reaction from Seban in Graphics in stock pricing.
Those are not 'decent prices'. The RTX 2060 is over 2 years old, and it launched for £300. This is almost double the cost of a brand new RTX 2060 at launch. £500 is more than the cost of a brand new RTX 3070.

By that logic, getting a 2005 car for twice its price is decent because it launched at half that 16 years ago?

These extremely inflated prices (note, not 'decent') are the result of the absurd GPU shortage caused by Bitcoin miners and NVidia capitalizing on their mutual greed, and are not likely to return to normal anytime soon.

The only way to get anything remotely resembling a 'Decent' price on a GPU is to buy used, which comes with its own risks but what can you do.

Buying it and hoping for the best is less of a stress than having LTT produce an entire video just to reassure him.

Also, 4.6 stars means nothing. It's actually kinda awful. If you look at eBay, there are sellers with 98% positive reviews. Seem good, right? Look at their positive and negative feedback. The positive ones are basically all bots saying botty shit, the negative ones go into detail and seem like they're written by humans. Realistically, they're closer to 50 or 60% positive, if that. Remember, this is on eBay. You're talking about a chinese seller on a chinese website making unrealistic price claims with crappy product descriptions that aren't even possible, let alone organized.
