This may be useless.  My info so fantastically fantastically out of date it may just not matter.  It’s likely a totally different program now and this may have nothing to do with what you are experiencing.  It seems familiar though.

I haven’t been a photoshop jockey in a really long time.  4.0 was new when I dropped out.  The way it used to be though is the size of the image mattered a lot for how much memory the thing needed, and every time you added a layer the file got bigger, so even if you started with a lot of memory and a little picture, if you weren’t careful the file could get too big to manage.  that drove memory to swap, and this made not the whole thing break down but parts got slow.  Just a tiny bit of swap was actually worse than a lot of swap.  If you had a lot of swap running, the thing was just glacially slow, but if you had only a tiny bit you got errors like what you are describing.

Well then it seems an attempt at a clean install is in order, but with all these issues, I wouldn't be surprised if some hardware replacements are needed.

Wasn't sure if they were up to date, so generally I like to ask.

I'd install crystal disk info and look at the health of your drives as they are getting on in age. But, that isn't likely to be the issue here.

If it was my system personally, I'd just reinstall windows. A full nuke of both drives will solve almost all software issues. But, if you need to keep files/don't want to do it, then checking the health of your drives and maybe resetting windows 10. You can find this option in 'Update & Security'. This allows you to wipe out most of windows settings and installed programs without losing personal files.

I have run DDU without safe mode many times and had no issues, that is going AMD>Nvidia, or Nvidia>Nvidia. Give it a try and see how you get on.

i just used it as my grandparents hadnt updated for sometime and the updates were failing.
i would update chipset driver and bios.
use DDU to ensure clean install of gpu driver
SMART is a good feature and as stated in your other post check your mounting pressure of your cooler. This can be the cause of other issues

    M A J O R reacted to Vishera in SMART detected HDD/SSD failure.
    Yes,It causes problems.
Too little pressure can cause poor contact between the CPU and the motherboard, and between the CPU and cooler.
Too much pressure can crack the die,but the IHS protects CPUs from this.

Maybe it's a mounting pressure issue.

Don't worry, the i7 6700 is quite powerful enough not to bottleneck a low end card like the GTX 970.
It might bottleneck the new card, even on 1440p, but not by a lot and it would be a nice initiative for you to upgrade the motherboard, CPU and RAM in a year or two.

are you sure the bottleneck is on the gpu side?
your cpu isnt and shouldn't be considered high end so i'd check the cpu and gpu usage and go from there

your cpu is mediocre at the best. but its probably your gpu that is causing bottleneck.

The note 5 was good overall. A nice balance between screen real estate and comfort to hold. I thought I would use the stylus a lot more than I actulally do. If it were an iPad I would definitiely get more use out of it as an artist but on the phone it's just not that usefull. Headphone jack is a "must" until the airpod styles become cheaper. Battery was really bad as you can expect from a 4+yr old phone as I never replaced it. From memory it was fine in it's prime. Storage isn't a big issue as I'm not a huge photo/video taker on phones. I lean towards an actual camera for that, although it's definitely nice to have a good qualtiy one on you at all times. The one on the N5 was showing it's age compared to recent cams. As for getting the latest updates, it's always nice to see a refresh of the UI or other features that come via software updates.

You can threaten them that you are sick of the outages and if you will get one more outage you will switch to the competition,it might scare them and magically fix it.
If threatening them doesn't work then simply switch to an ISP that doesn't have those problems, before that check the worst reviews and comments - they show the worst case scenario.
And if an ISP has Optic Fiber in your area,it indicates that the infrastructure is at least modern.

M A J O R reacted to Vishera in How often should my connection be "down for maintainence"?
It depends on how modern and how well built the infrastructure of the ISP.
They are saving money by fixing old and worn components instead of replacing them completely with new ones, they also save money by not updating their infrastructure.
They probably wait for things to break instead of inspecting the infrastructure regularly.

My ISP doesn't do all of this BS,i have never had an outage before,
I guess it's because my ISP is focused on keeping the infrastructure modern, inspects the infrastructure regularly and doesn't wait for things to break, the whole infrastructure of my ISP is Optic Fiber.

i suppose thats windows considering the tablet as a touch screen, and hiding the cursor once you start using it.

seems like (as of yet) there is no way to work around this, unless if perhaps your tablet can show up as something other than a touch screen.

No. Assuming the other drive shows up as D:/, E:/, etc you can just point the installer to that drive and it'll do the rest. You might like to setup some folders for organization but beyond that not really. It's pretty common for people to want to do this.
