Moved to CPUs, Motherboards and Memory. Also, the CPU is just a 1800X for the X399 platform. Do not buy.

This is pretty much the case
But there are some other compelling options aswell like the prime x570-p
While not good value compared to the tuf it's still pretty decent

Honestly you really should consider buying a used X299 chip with more cores for the time being. If not, what B450 boards are available for you to buy instead of that ASUS TUF one? The only TUF board that's worth buying for AMD at the moment is the X570 one.

First of all, 4C/4T CPU on X299 - ugh... Second, that B450 TUF board that you mentioned is quite bad for its price. Look at MSI's B450 offerings, they have better VRM.

Also, considering your current platform maybe just buy a CPU with more cores that slots into your current X299 rig?

I will add aswell is the imc probably won't handle
And iirc the FCLK on the Interconnect won't be good enough to drive them at their advertised speeds
So at most you might get to 2666

Getting this: https://www.morele.net/pamiec-g-skill-ripjaws-v-ddr4-128-gb-3200mhz-cl16-f4-3200c16q-128gvk-6535690/ and trying to overclock it would be your best bet in terms of paying a reasonable amount of money. There's little difference between 3200 and 3600MHz in terms of performance, and going beyond that is pretty much pointless on 3rd gen Ryzen.
Getting that speed with that capacity and using four DIMMs is hard-enough and may also depend on the motherboard. It's probably best if you find a motherboard that uses a T-topology memory layout as it's better suited for using all four memory slots.

The RM750x is better internally than the latest RM750 AFAIK. If the price difference isn't too big, I'd get the 'x' one.

Well, memory does overclock better if it's cooled well. If your modules get too hot even on a normally stable OC they freeze usually, so there may be an audience for that.

Although for a normal user it's pointless, I agree

Here's a screenshot of what happens when you're trying to open AMD Ryzen Master utility:

It's the same for AMD and Intel pretty much.

Actually, some companies claim it does when you overclock their products. They actually explicitly say that in their terms of service.
This is why you should always play dumb when talking with the RMA service and be like: "What's overclocking?"
Intel and AMD both say that as far as I know. Even overclocking the RAM in theory voids your Intel warranty because the IMC gets stressed more than the specs say it should.

The thing is, there's no real way of checking if the damage was due to an overclock so just don't admit to doing that and you're covered.

I know, on the other hand when in the recent years has Intel supported three CPU generations on one socket? There's a good chance Z490 will be EoL after Ice Lake if we go by recent trends

They will, this is why most Z490 motherboards actually use PCIe 4.0 switches, to ensure future 4.0 compatibility

People use string to tie meat together in an oven and bake it at over 150C. If your PC is getting that hot you have a serious problem.
