    Amen to that!
Now don't get me wrong, I have the usual "fetish" clients that you might think about when you hear the word "fetish"
Latex body paint, feathers, spikes and chains, etc, but sometimes someone will want a shoot for something that surprises even me, like the key/lock thing.

Fetish photographer here, you have no idea some of the things I've seen. So weird it loops right back into normalcy.
I have a client, who makes a living at this, mind you, sticking keys into old locks and unlocking them, while cooing.

No nudity, no sex, nothing raunchy, just a lock and a key.
    ..a living.

Isn't being trapped in this device and not having control over it exactly what the people using it want? The hackers are going to be so confused when they receive their $750 along with a note saying "thanks babe, same time next week?"

No idea how these are designed, but I'd be willing to bet it's a solenoid lock that could be unlocked with a magnet pretty easily.

Oh dear god this is a thing? Who in the right mind thinks using such a device is a good idea? Something like this really doesn't need to be an IoT device.

A dremel and some gauze is a lot less than $750.

It's not really a matter of opinion. Buying new stuff and throwing out the old is very bad. If it can be resold or given away for reuse, that would be better. And recycling it if it can't be reused is okay.

    Reduce.
    Reuse.
    Recycle.

    In that order.

As far as I know LMG does not do internships, nor do they hire based on requests. If you would like to work at LMG, you can apply for one of the job listings on https://linusmediagroup.com/jobs. However I believe you do need to be able to work in Canada in order to apply.

some places now are offering IT degrees. Mine is less math (still 1 dumb class but I've ranted enough) with more practical classes

That can be found right here on this forum.  There are some REALLY experienced, REALLY educated people here willing, gladly, to help you and/or share information they have.
