DrMacintosh got a reaction from Techstorm970 in It's now AMD vs Apple - more Ryzen 5000U-series benchmarks found
It's more like AMD and Apple are doing their own thing. Intel is irrelevant but that doesn't mean Apple and AMD are competing...bc they aren't really.

USPS is overworked and underfunded. But their successful shipment numbers absolutely trounce FedEx and USPS combined even during this period of difficulty for them. USPS is the most reliable shipment service in the country and I see no reason why LTT should not utilize them for LTTstore.com

I've had way more issues with UPS than I have with USPS. USPS has had a hard time this year.

DrMacintosh got a reaction from whm1974 in Is apple just going to kill x86 now?
In short, no. There is no "macOS for ARM" and "macOS for x86." There is only macOS which is a universal binary.

Don't listen to the mod. He's net very informed. The Mic in AirPods don't suck and you aren't SoL.

When you're connecting your AirPods to your windows PC, you have to be sure that Windows is correctly identifying the AirPods and is connecting to them fully. I've experienced Windows only connecting part of the functionality of my AirPods and that's when quality becomes unusable.

I recommend removing the device from Windows and then reconnecting them fresh. Then go to your audio devices and select AirPods as the output and the headset function of the AirPods as the input.

Then can say Wine Is Not An Emulator as much as they like, its main function is to allow users to run non native apps on a foreign OS. Its an emulator in every usual way we refer to them.

Translation layers are often called by their alternative names, High Level Emulators.

They don't. Mac's never go on sale from Apple.com, with the exception of "Back to School" promotions which usually include a small discount of about $100-$200 and a pair of wireless headphones such as AirPods. Other retailers, like BestBuy and Amazon have been known to have seasonal sales/flash sales where you can get a few hundred off the price of a new Mac.

You can buy certified refurbished Macs from Apple a few months after a new product launches. Amazon and other retailers may offer "renewed" machines, but they are nothing like a genuine refurb which are usually in new condition.

None. OS updates are free, all paid services are completely optional and do not affect your user experience. There is no "DLC" on macOS with the exception of Window snapping which is unfortunately patented by Microsoft and cannot be added to macOS natively for the time being. You can spend under $3 to get an app like Better Snap Tool or Magnet to add window snapping. That's about the only thing you might want to worry about.

If you are looking at an Apple Silicon (M1) MacBook, I would seriously take pause unless you know for sure you will never need to boot into Windows 10 and that you are sure that you won't be running mission critical software on it. Apple Silicon is still in its infancy and things are bound to go wrong.

DrMacintosh got a reaction from whm1974 in Does anyone else feel like there is no reason to upgrade?
Most people do very specific things with their PCs and everyone has different needs. Usually, after you build a system that meets those needs....there is simply no reason to upgrade your system other than to be on the latest hardware.

Me for example, my gaming requirements are very low. I mostly play World of Warships which has a game engine that is mostly CPU bound (not to mention the game has a frame rate limiter). So it wouldn't matter if I upgraded to the latest Ryzen processors or Radeon Graphics since doing so would net 0 performance gains.

You should only upgrade if your system does not meet your needs or your expectations.
