I think the Apple Watch SE should be $199. I'm…

Sure, but nothing that directly matters imo. It's much faster, has a compass, a screen change, and gets better battery life. The speed is the only thing that I would be benefiting from since I won't really be using any of the new features.

WI'd probably pay up and get the full Apple Watch, or just buy second hand.

  3. I hate outlook. Got a user who keeps having this issue where he can't receive any new emails, but he can send emails out....Outlook says its constantly "Syncing Subscribed folders" but once that allegedly finishes nothing ever happens. I tried to unsubscribe from those folders but nothing changed. The next course of action is to create a new profile for that account.....but this keeps happening and has happened on two different computers. It's incredibly frustrating.

Depending on what device you're using, AirPods will be on 2.4GHz and Bluetooth which introduces some interference. My Series 2 Apple Watch only has a 2.4GHz wifi radio and as a result, sometimes I get volume spikes or interference when walking in high interference areas. On other devices with 5GHz, don't have that issue. I can't say I've ever heard other signals getting picked up, but I suppose its possible.

Anyone have any advice on a good starter credit…

I mean in terms of applying for a loan, buying a house, getting an apartment, etc. all of these things are affected by/require a credit score. In order to get a credit score, you have to use a credit card. Is credit a easy way to get into debt? Yes. Is it really easy to not buy shit impulsively and use Credit as a tool to earn cash back and other benefits? Hell yes. I love cash, but I’m an young adult and I’m thinking about my financial future. Credit is an important tool in financial stability.

Like it or not, Credit is a resource that you have to have to be independent. I’m not getting a credit card to spend money I don’t have, I’m getting one to ya know….have credit.
  8. I took out Star Wars Squadrons out for a spin today. Man that is one well optimized game. I’ve gotten to used to poorly optimized and coded games like World of Warships that I forgot what you kind of experience you can get from a well made AAA title.

Actually, Chase seems to have a Student Credit card with a 15% APR and 0 yearly fees. Plus $50 cashback on first purchase. That might be a good route, I'll ask my Dad later today.

I have literally no credit. I've got a College Checking Account through chase with quite a lot of money in it. Looks like recommended starter cards are not from chase though.

I respectfully disagree. If you mean in terms of not being able to pay the price upfront but getting paid later then I could see that being a problem but otherwise I don’t see problems with avoiding credit.

If merchants don’t take debit then perhaps I’d agree but honestly if I ran into a merchant who told me they supported credit cards and not debit cards I’d ask them if they’re having a laugh or I’d just leave and go somewhere else. It’s against every card network’s TOS to (at least explicitly) ban debit cards but allow Credit cards or vice versa. It might even be illegal to do that.

Not strictly speaking true. They usually  do exist in many cases, it just won’t be a good score.

  13. Btw, Steam is having a Star Wars weekend sale. Star Wars Squadrons is $20, Battlefront II (EA) is $12.

If you don't have Empire at War yet, GET IT. It's super cheap, like $4 I think?

Yeha, they are arguably worse because absolutely nothing is standard about giving support for Windows 10 besides OS related problems. Kek.

The leather Keychain holder for AirTags is more…

AirTags are all Bluetooth and the U1. Non U1 iOS devices and Macs simply use Bluetooth to contribute/use the FindMy Network. Note there is no pairing required, they are completely passive devices once setup.
  18. The leather Keychain holder for AirTags is more expensive than an actual AirTag....but it looks so nice and you get a keyring with "Designed by Apple, in California" engraved on it T.T

Wait so how do AirTags work? Do they use GPS or is it simply a type of near field communication?

Yeah, the Apple Support forums are pretty useless imo. When I was newer to the Apple community, I used to use them and ask/answer questions. Once I found the LTT forums I dropped them like a rock.

  22. Actually, cross site tracking exists on iOS. Along with a decent content blocker and Google gets very little data from, of course besides what you search and any data that you willingly give them.
  23. I have a Series 2 Apple Watch. It works fine. It tracks my walks, tells me to stand, delivers notifications, and the battery still holds a charge....but its old and and no longer supported.

The Apple Watch SE looks pretty nice, but spending $279 to replace something that will be doing nothing more than my Series 2 does....its kinda hard to justify. I guess that's why the Apple Watch is a popular gift product.

Another thing is trading in my 7th Gen iPad and upgrading to an 8th gen for $94. That's a good deal imo, but idk if its really worth it since all I use my iPad for is OneNote. I think to make the upgrade worthwhile, I would need to get the higher 128GB storage option but that bumps to upgrade cost up to like $150. Meh.

    Spending money is whack.

  24. I mean, if its a good drive you should still get it. Having extra drives is always good. But would I buy a new motherboard for one? No. What you could do is get an NVMe PCIe card if you want to use it. SATA SSDs are perfectly fine though imo.
