  4. PSU is has decided it wants to start dying.... Well its half my fault but anyways.

Start the process of getting a new one... sold out, sold out.. oh New Egg has what I needs for $128.90 usd

    *That was the joke.*

Punch line: $73.00 shipping... what the crap? never have I paid this much in shipping, a PSU weighs what 1-1.5 lbs? if maybe that. Guess a keep looking.

NewEgg strikes again. I remember when New Egg used to be a fair place to buy PC Parts. When I built my current rig 6yrs ago I bought half my parts from Newegg and my shipping wasn't half that. 🤦‍♂️

*edit even the USPS (post office) has flat rate package shipping for 19.99 for 5lbs or less and this is being shipped from inside the U.S. to Iowa.... for Pete's sake what are they using private courier?!?

  7. I have said good bye to Netflix. Ended my account. I was offended by Gay Jesus, and almost did it then but I was working so much it slipped my mind and I kinda forgot about it [no excuse]. Now with the release of Cuties [a child pornographic sponsored by Netflix] I am  beyond disgusted. I can find my entertainment else where, I will not support a company that supports this garbage.

I wont watch it myself I have 4 young daughters. And even if I didnt I still would not expose myself such distasteful and unacceptable content.

Did my own research, Besides what was reported or said they allowed it on their platform. There is no excuse for not validating the content before allowing it.

      Quote from 2 critics:

      Quote

They expose the breast of an 11 year old child.
The crotch shots, sex simulation are things you’d see in a raunchy strip club and to see young children doing this, adults having young children doing this crushes my heart and mind.

      Quote

The clip has already been spread across social media, out of context, for any sicko to watch. This is the problem. It’s not the movie. It’s not the message. It’s the fact that the director put young girls in provocative clothing, taught 11 years olds to dance and act inappropriately and filmed it. She could have easily told the story without it.

      Statement from Netflix;

      Quote

Cuties’ is a social commentary against the sexualization of young children,” a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement.

There is no defending this. This movie is not a social commentary when you purposefully include this kind of content.

That director ought to be thoroughly ashamed of herself and the parents that allowed the children to used should be scrutinized.

  9. I recently had an idea for what some might call a smart watch, but significantly more restrained than the phone-on-your-wrist that most try to be.

    • No android or ios or any other big system, just a very simple firmware.
    • It would have an e-ink display and show just time, weather, and a notification counter.
    • It would be solar powered so hopefully no need to ever charge it "manually".
    • Because of this simplicity it would be a more agreeable form factor than some of the thicker options out there currently, not to mention quite a bit cheaper
    • It would use one of the various low power communication systems available for devices like this rather than bluetooth.  I realize that phones generally not having such a thing built in would be a problem in practice but I'm just brainstorming here :P

I believe the purpose of a watch, smart or traditional, is to provide access to basic, commonly used information as quickly and effortlessly as possible.  You could simply check your phone directly, but perhaps saving those few seconds is a convenience worth having.  I think too many of them try to do too much however, and lure you into trying things like reading, typing, etc. that because they are so awkward on such a tiny device, end up taking longer than it would to just use your phone for in the first place, and this is what I've attempted to eliminate here.  By doing so, it frees up resources that can improve the device in other ways, such as size, cost, and battery life.

What do you think?  Would there be any market for such a thing?  Does such a thing perhaps already exist unbeknownst to me?  I feel like it would actually do well, provided that hitch about communication with the phone could be resolved.

  10. Need to buy two laptops [nothing fancy] for my two eldest for school. Looking around for the last month and finally came across some today.

Problem: Limit one per customer. Darn - I need 2.

Solution: Ordered them online from separate browsers, one under my name and one under my wife's. LMAO it worked.

They will be delivered Sept 9th. lol.

      Apparently.

Honestly I don't care what color they are, as long they can log into their assignments and do them.

They could be pink for all I care, I'm not using them any how.

  15. New Oak table top for the dining table. Sanded incrementally from 80 > 120 >220 > 320 grits respectively.  First coat of shellac applied. No stain.

I could. But with 5 kids ranging from 4-12 that would be guaranteed to interrupt constantly, I think I will pass. Lol. But that is a good idea though, I'll have to send them to the grandparents for a night. Lol.

  19. Snipping [shortening long quotes] ... is such a simple thing. So very easy a thing to do, gets annoying when people don't do it.

I believe I will start making super annoying snippy comments when I snip for others for now on.

Can I be snippy enough? guess we shall find out.

  20. I couldn't help but notice that this topic:

Was perfectly fine with it's political jabs until you mentioned certain actions of the Chinese government. Really makes me think.

    1. SansVarnic

      SansVarnic

What you think it reeks of is not what is. Topics mentioning China almost always goes to shit almost immediately. Sufficient to say any topic talking about China, Hong Kong, Taiwan or any other politically based topic should expect to be locked. Its called preemptive moderative action. I live in central US I have no love for the CCP and I am fairly certain no one LMG or LTT Forum does either.
