When you switch your complete platform you should do a fresh Windows install.

i bet Intel wish they could do that. I guess they dont do "tick tock" because they simple cant improve as much within the small time frame anymore.

well, AMD isnt that much ahead with the 5000 series in gaming performance. The Ryzen 3000series gap to Intels 10series was way bigger than that, everyone reasonable would atleast expect a back and forth for the gaming crown now, thats for sure. No matter how "bad" Rocket Lake is gonna be, it will take the gaming crown back, the question is by how much? And can AMD take the gaming crown back after Rocket Lake again and force Intel to rush out Alder Lake?

But productivity? Well that looks very Bad for Intel and nobody can predict if this is ever going to change again on the mainstream platform. One reason for this is that SMT is so much more efficient compared to HT.

have seen the der8uer video video about compare intel and amd at a microscopic level! amd's 7nm isnt half of intel's 14nm more like 2/3 so intel's 10nm is comparable to tsmc 7nm and intel's 7nm is comparable to tsmc's 5nm

Nothing new, we knew that 5000series would only trade blow with comet lake in gaming since Ashes of Singularity Benchmark leaks and AMDs own announcement show, they pointed out an average of 7% higher gaming performance compared to a non overclocked 10900k with slow RAM.

If you ask me nobody won, AMD didnt, Intel didnt, and we as consumer for sure didnt win either. (especially considering price bumps)
Its 3 Years ago already since Coffeelake got released and gaming performance still isnt climbing more than single digit % since then.

Ah well next year things can look different again anyways...
My bet is that Alder Lake will kill it. And i dont really need to upgrade since then. Unless AMD or Intel pulls something out of their sleeves that is atleast 20% faster in gaming, then im interessted.

I know the consumers worldwide did not win.  The only place pricing has really benefited is in the US.  I knew if AMD brought out some really good products they would in many spots fall in line and price their products at prices out of the reach of many consumers.  AMD ... Intel ... Who cares.  Bring on Cyrix. : P

This Ryzen 1600 processor you have is not capable of running 4 sticks of Corsair LPX SK Hynix modules at 3000mhz XMP rated speeds. The memory controller just won't do it. It won't even matter how much effort you put into this.

I honestly wonder who woke up at MSI and decided it'd be a great idea to automatically lock your CPU Clock without saying anything. Even if I wanted dragon to control my clock speed, why on earth would lock my clock at 4.4ghz with no possibility of bringing it back up until reboot...I even opened the app and set everything to the highest settings...Clock is no longer dropping and being locked, running Warzone at 4.7GHZ without issue. Now I can actually work on bringing the clock up and finding a stable voltage...

Thank you Shrimp, Dark and Chris.

So for anyone who has a similar issue, uninstall/delete everything related to MSI Dragon Center AND MSI SDK.

    After benchmarks though.

    For 2080ti :
    - used, little / no warranty
    - more vram
    - higher overclocks especially with 380w bios (so maybe about 10% more performance)

    For 3070:
    - new
    - less power consumption

without considering rdna 2, i'd probably go with a 2080ti ngl. 8gb of vram is nice but more doesnt hurt, 2080tis will probably overclock a little better on average, and turing shroud designs look better than ampere's on average imo. but if i could get a 2080ti or 3070 right now for 500 id take either in a heartbeat lol

    looks like this:

I didnt reseal it because there is no point in doing that. Its just held in place by the ILM (Intel mechanism that holds your CPU in its socket)
It doesnt move anywhere, its pretty secure.

if you have doubts, you should look up what the parts should score in better benchmarks at stock and do a stock to stock comparison. Not running around one site like a headless chicken, all worried.

just overclock your 2080ti and get 3080 -5% at 1080p / -10% at 1440p while having 30w more power consumption.
