But they are the sweet spot 1080p cards. "sweet spot" usually refers to that which delivers majority of performance for the lowest price point. These cards are in the $250 range and can run 1080 high+ settings quite well.

    970/390 = high end 1080p cards.
    950/370 = low end 1080p cards.

I only listed the 980Ti and Fury X as a example and to make a point; that it's more relevant to test with these cards (960/380) vs others because they are the more mainstream models.

It's like religion and politics. It's almost impossible to have a discussion about them without emotions flaring. Which is stupid, it's just a graphics card .

I remember that even after the first Battlefront driver released a 380 was almost as good as a 970 in that game

Since for some bizarre reason you insist on trying to ignore the posts I made here I place them again for your pleasure

You can clearly see the R9 380 4GB show good frame pacing and better frame rates across most games, how is that, is it magic? No it's called drivers, and they take time. Think Nvidia is free from this? No, in the battlefront beta Nvidia drivers weren't able to beat AMDs and have improved once the game launched. Nvidia might have a edge on how fast they release their drivers now, but this doesn't last longer than 1-3 weeks.

I don't think that'll happen. But even if it did, I wouldn't say it would be a 'major' blow, most people buy a 980Ti within that budget anyway, if they stopped selling 380's/390's, THAT would be a major blow.

There isn't really an upgrade after the 8350 you would be better off moving to Intel also in some ARMA 3 server I don't even get 40FPS with an i7 4790k its just unoptimized.

It'd be a good idea to replace it with an EVGA GQ/GS/G2/B2 or Antec HCG, yeah.

Well the Tom's Hardware list is super hilarious to read through when you realize that units with the same exact components inside (rebrands) often get situated in different tiers which makes no sense at all. Multiple Seasonic rebrands get mixed around in different tiers which means it isn't really accurate.

Agree expect for the efficiency rating part as long as it's 80+ Bronze it really makes little impact when choosing a PSU for a new build.

To me, the CX has its place as a cheap modular PSU for low power systems (occasionally I see the cx430m go for 30 bucks which is really nice for a modular PSU).  Perfect for something like a 750 ti/mini itx build.  Once you start going into the 500 and 600 watt models, it pretty much loses value.  The extra watts don't compensate for the quality of the parts.

If this is true, I can't wait for nvidia fanboys to defend the 600% increase in power consumption, for a 50% increase in performance.

Also if this is true, I'd have a hard time believing nvidia would openly accept hbm 2, especially since they're so big on overclocking. Would have thought they'd go for the much more efficient hbm 1, and tried to work out sourcing it en mass.
