Counting to 100 000 000 every second is not as easy as you may think it is. Also it is not critical to be very acurate, so they saved money.

Stefan1024 got a reaction from Algebruh in HEX 2.0 the GREATEST air cooler using a Thermoelectric Heat Pump
You like to get rid of the heat energy of the CPU. If you need a lot of energy to do this (it has a 6 pin PCIe power connector) it's quite ineffient.
Passive coolers are quiete effient, but it's even better if you can recover some energy. My last build used no energy at all for cooling, but recovered a litte bit of electrical energy.

The peltier cooler is effective, but by no means efficient.

Stefan1024 reacted to LAwLz in Cortana can be used against you. We learn more about her
This seems like a massive security oversight.
The entire point of locking a computer is to prevent other people from interacting with it. Letting them interact with it through Cortana defeats that purpose.
Also, lol at that "solution". What a surprise that Microsoft's "fix" involves forcing users to use their products.

People aren't using Bing? Make it so that people can't change search engine in some places like the start menu.
People aren't using Edge? Make it the only allowed browser in the store (all other browsers are re-skins of Edge).
People aren't using UWP? Make a version of Windows that can only run UWP programs and incentivece OEMs to push that version.

It's the same shitty tactics Google used to push Google+. Nobody using your shitty social media platform? Make it a requirement if people want to use your widely successful video platform!

How about companies stop trying to force their awful products to consumers and instead develop something people actually want to use?

One of the reasons he managed to make progress on so many things that were thought to be "impossible" is his tendency to provide "unrealistic" deadlines and objectives.

You can start the engine and then start to remove the snow by hand. You are just not allowed to melt all the snow with the car.
Also the fine if you don't is about 40 USD.

Wasting energy can be illegal. For example it is illigal for us to start the car engine and wait 15 minutes nearby until all the snow melted.

Also what things are illegal or legal changes a lot over time.

The final product is exactly the same, but destillating (evaporating) the water needs a lot of energy, so they use fancy filters to get the same effect. But then you can't call it destilled water, as it was never destilled.

Stefan1024 got a reaction from Beneteau in 980 Ti - Fixing a blown inductor (1R0)
The FET can be replaced easely as well, they cost about 5$. I repeared a board that was worth 1000$ by replaising a single FET (sadly it was at work and mnot my own).

They are usually "normaly open", meaning when you measure the resistance between all pinn you should have > 10k Ohm. They usually fail short and create a short circuit between drain and source (< 1 ohm). This makes it relatively easy to finde the faulty one.
