I almost didn't want to post here since it seems like I'm a generation older than everyone but oh well...

"back in my day" we called them 'graphics adapters', then 'video cards' or 'graphics cards' before referring to the whole card as only the processing unit component.

Anywho, my first 'graphics adapter' was probably the S3 VESA VLB 16-bit ISA card. We had something in the previous 486 PC but I don't remember what it was, and I do remember this S3 card in an early 90's Dell desktop that Novell let my dad bring home when he worked there through the 90s. It had the normal 16bit ISA connector on one end but on farther down it had what looked like PCI fingers too (this thing was LONG even by todays standards). It had a Pentium 133, a 1gb HDD, and we had a giant 21" CRT that looked unreal lol

If we're talking what was our own (like not a family PC type thing), the first PC I built for myself with my own money was around 1998 or 99, Initially it was a Celeron 566 Socket 370 on a socket 370 to Slot 1 adapter card. I spent most of my summer janitor job savings on the graphics card, a Hercules 3D Prophet DDR-DVI (I believe this was the first graphics card on the market either with DDR or DVI, or maybe just the first with both). It was a Geforce 256 with 32mb of DDR VRAM.

Gikero reacted to kb5zue in Is RAID 0 worth it for me?
Since the drives are both SSD, there is no real reason to run them in a Raid 0 setup.  Use the smaller of the two drives for your operating system and needed software while using the larger of the two drives for things such as your games along with backup files (documents, pictures, etc.) from the smaller drive.

Red Dead 2 isn't on PC and probably won't be for a while

If you're wondering what GPU to use, just buy a cheap RX 570 which are $150 or less sometimes and comes with some free games currently.

The CPU will "bottleneck" it, but will most likely still hit at least 50-60 fps in games.

If you're wondering about used GPU find a cheap radeon GPU that's like a 370 or better

I thought Facebook had a phone years back. Maybe the distinction is that Facebook made this device in-house instead of partnering with a device manufacturer?

It's okay, I won't get banned... Because I use private internet access. Private internet access is the simple to use VPN that allows you to hide your identity online and browse as if you were in another country...

That CPU cooler is intended for 45W CPU and you want to use it with a 95W CPU. I wouldn't recommend it. I feel like this is one of those cases where being cheap isn't worth the extra hassle it will give you.

Gikero got a reaction from MalfurionStormrage in (MX500) SSD sustained write half speed on this mobo?
Spec page for your motherboard shows it is a SATA gen 2 capable chipset.
You can't get full speed of your SSD without a SATA gen 3 controller card. Other option is to switch out your motherboard with one that will support
    SATA 6Gb/s.
    https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M/specifications/

SATA cables will operate at the speed of the controller. PC Gamer explicitly tested this years back.

AHCI is better due to it's ability to queue the drive for requests. IDE mode can't do this.
