  1. Yeah so I just switched the PCIE slots they were in and it worked... can't believe that I didn't try that first
  2. I am trying to run a dual gpu setup for passthrough gaming but whenever I start ubuntu with both gpu's installed, it will just sit on the boot screen with the mobo logo showing. I booted into recovery mode and and it went into a kernel panic with the error "not syncing: fatal exception in interrupt". I assume that this is driver caused because windows boots just fine with both. Specs: Ryzen 1600 16gb Ram @ 2933 ASUS Prime B350-Plus Corsair RM650 (I'm aware that I'm pushing it to the limit) Zotac RTX 2070S Mini MSI Armor OC RX580 8gb
  3. I got mine for $550 for the 3500u, 12gb RAM, and 256 gb. I was also thinking of upgrading that but I need more space on my desktop first.
  4. I actually got it before 4000 mobile so I have the 3500u. I should repaste mine because I did take off the heatsink and slapped it back on without any new paste. I had a 4th gen i5 laptop before, it wasn't good.
  5. I went into device manager, went into monitors, clicked update drivers, and then manually set it to generic PnP monitor. It somehow got set to Standard PnP monitor which it didn't like. This laptop is fantastic, can get a bit toasty (but I'm pretty sure that's my fault), has really good performance, and keyboard. Display is a bit weird in colors so don't expect it to be amazing. Battery life for me at least is like 2 hours if i'm just web browsing, idk what I did. Also, if you're thinking of doing linux with this laptop, make sure to set the charging mode in Lenovo vantage to what
  6. That worked, thanks! Turns out it switched my monitor to something else for some reason.
  7. There is no slider for brightness in action center, the hotkeys on my keyboard don't work, and nothing in settings says that I'm able to change the brightness. I've tried reinstalling the display driver from amd themselves, lenovo, and windows update and none of them work. I know that the backlight isn't just broken because going into the bios has it on full.
  8. I can only clear the tpm from that screen, the prepare tpm option is greyed out. This has worked before in other installs of windows. I have just recently reinstalled windows
  9. My motherboard is the Asus B350-Prime Plus (latest 5204 bios) running with a Ryzen 5 1600. I have tried clearing the tpm both through bios and through tpm.msc. I should also note that in tpm.msc, I cannot prepare the tpm through that menu.
  10. I first noticed this issue when I went to school and my wifi didn't work, no big deal, I'll just use my Bluetooth tethering. I tried this on my hotspot which still didn't have internet there either. I have tried kernal 5.0.9 and the lts 4.19 and it still doesn't work.
  11. I was going to try and install it on my secondary hard drive, my main drive is a 256 GB SSD. The rest of my specs are Ryzen 5 1600 Hyper X Predator RGB 16gb (2*8gb) Asus Prime B350 Plus Msi Armor RX 580 8gb Asus PCE-AC55BT Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 256 GB Seagate Barracuda 1tb And if it matters, the h500i's case lighting. I'm booting through USB and I will try other ports.
  12. Cinnamon has the exact same behavior. I don't think it's the desktop environment because it doesn't even get to that.
  13. I'm trying to install manjaro kde just to see what the experience is like on a desktop because I love it on my laptop. Problem is, I can't even boot to the desktop because the start job for LiveMedia MHWD script runs infinitely. I have already tried setting the drivers to free, nonfree, vesa, mesa, and Radeon but they don't do anything. My specs that are relevant are a ryzen 5 1600 with an rx 580. I have also verified that the iso was not corrupted or modified because it runs on my laptop.
